IntellifloXF with an Aqualink RS - Answers

Hi everyone. Since no one, including Jandy, could tell me if the final firmware (R) on the Aqualink RS is compatible with the (new-ish) intellifloXF pump, I decided to try it. The good news - yes, it works just fine, in fact even better that my old SVRS unit. You can address the speed directly...

Under construction in texas - water in it finally!

It's amazing how powerful direct sun is. We built when the first kid was about to swim, so we have three now, 5-12 spread. I don't understand the Austin folks. Clean power.....but using power is bad, so make it punitively expensive for people who use a lot.....and then wonder why everyone...

New S300 Owner. Kudos to Marina!

+1 on Margaret at Marina. Just ordered my first robot today. Really appreciated her ability to decode the product line and look at my pool to make a recommendation.

Under construction in texas - water in it finally!

After 8 years - here is where I'm at. -The swim pump is used by the kids, but it's not being used by the wife for exercise -I threw away the UV filter, it was a waste of time and money (a lot of money). The guys are local to me in austin and would not even come out to troubleshoot it. Garbage...

Under construction in texas - water in it finally!

Many years later....Update: - C1900 Chemical Automation continues to work well. The only issue I face is that liquid chlorine adds a lot of salt. - A single pump has worked well to save power. I'm pretty happy with it. - DE Filters are a giant PITA to clean. Looking forward to a better option...

    Communications on Aqualink System wonky

This is strange to describe, so bear with with me. About 4 months ago, something happened to my RS12 system, such that the second power center stopped communicating with the main power center. I cycled the power, checked connections, and it's back up and both power centers appear to be...

New Pool Build because of Big Green Egg - FINAL INSPECTION

Re: New Pool Build in Central Texas because of Big Green Egg Who is your PB? We had trouble with impervious coverage..skated in at the exact limit.

    Jandy aqualink.

I would go with a non-PDA version. The PDA has very limited functionality compared to a regular non-PDA version with a one-touch or touch controller (which iAqualink simulates). You can always add a PDA remote to the system later if you really want one. It's nice for the Spa. Our RS12 system...

Anyone know if it works with an jandy aqualink? And if so, what's the minimum firmware needed?

Good question....I don't really have a gut feel for problematic dissolved solid and salt levels.

    Chemlink C1900 installed DIY...noob story

Season 3 update - wow, time flies. - Pretty much like clock work, the pH probe drifts monthly, and eventually drifts past the maximum calibration bias. So $135 per year year for a pH probe. - I aspire to insulate the system (though I'm not sure how) to be resilient to Texas light freezes. The...

New construction in Austin, Tx. Heatpump or gas heater?

We installed a heatpump a couple years ago. If you put a cover on the pool you can maintain 80F except for long ambient dips into the 30s. The energy cost is similar to a large air conditioner. We decided not to heat it this year because my wife is swimming with a team and the kids are not that...

    stenner pump fell apart

What are you using the pump for? How is it mounted? If it's for acid, bad bad things happen when you co-locate the pump and the tank.

anyone using liquid chlorine check their salt levels recentl

Would you expect 2200ppm salt level after 1.5 years of liquid chlorine with the pool maintained 12 months/year in hot texas? I was a bit taken aback this evening when I checked it for the first time. Should I be thinking about changing out the water?

Problems with Ph on Jandy Chemlink 1900

If you are not running your pump constantly, then I can see there being an issue if there is very low flow through the cell. Also, the power to the C1900 should not be tied into the pump. You don't want it resetting all the time. Other than that, sounds like it's installed incorrectly or you...

Problems with Ph on Jandy Chemlink 1900

a few questions: 1) Has the PH probe ever been calibrated? 2) Have you tested the water from the probe bowl itself to see what the PH is? 3) Is there water circulating through the probe bowl? 4) Where are the acid and chlorine being injected in the system?

    Jandy PDA to iAqualink

Figure out which unit you have. Out the box, the iAqualink comes in two versions for up to 8-relay models (PDA8, RS8). One for older control systems, and one for newer systems. If you have a larger system than an 8-relay unit, you will have to send your current CPU board to Jandy to upgrade...

I can't get my Intellifo VS to talk to the iAqualink

Re: Controlling an Intelliflo VF with Jandy Aqualink I am pretty sure if I recall that it's not a color match on the RS485 cable from the VS to the aqualink RS485 ports. The RS485 port (a red connector) on the aqualink has 4 pins. 1 - Red, 2 - black, 3 - yellow, 4 - green. The VS has a...

    Jandy Automation Costs

Assuming they have to run a sub-panel at the pump to wire up all of that equipment, there is not much more to do to install the controller. I would definitely have an electrician wire it up to code given the consequences if there is a short and not protected by a GFI circuit. Once the 110/240 is...

    Austin, TX Builders

I had pretty good luck with Pool Pro in Austin. I documented the build pretty well, look at my sig. Chris (owner) was very fair with changes, adjustments, etc. The crew he has is very experienced. Most builders will shy you away from Salt. We talked to 3 (Cody, Liquid Assets, and Pool Pro)...

    Chemlink - C1900

I am pretty sure that the Aqualink in spa mode will not allow a chemlink system to dose/operate. It seems like this constraint would simplify the installation and control (dosing amounts, injection points, etc). Maybe there is a jumper or configuration I'm not aware of that allows it to operate...

    Fountain heads/nozzles?

Thanks guys. That's not quite what I had in min but great options. The PB put a standard 1.5" eyeball return in the floor of the hot tub and kiddie pool. Then they put a PVC extension into the threaded return receptacle and put the eye-ball on the end of it. I can screw in any standard return...

    Fountain heads/nozzles?

I've been looking everywhere for more interesting fountain nozzles fort he kids. My PB put in three fountains, that are essentially a screw-in PVC pipe with a regular 1.5" return eyeball on the end. I was thinking there would be all sorts of nozzles one could screw in, but the the life of me I...

Under construction in texas - water in it finally!

Update on cooling towers: The amount of power needed to pressurize the towers and still maintain good circulation is more than what would be used by a Glacier for a pool this big. Though $2000 for a glacier will buy a lot of power....
