Many years later....Update: - C1900 Chemical Automation continues to work well. The only issue I face is that liquid chlorine adds a lot of salt. - A single pump has worked well to save power. I'm pretty happy with it. - DE Filters are a giant PITA to clean. Looking forward to a better option...

I would go with a non-PDA version. The PDA has very limited functionality compared to a regular non-PDA version with a one-touch or touch controller (which iAqualink simulates). You can always add a PDA remote to the system later if you really want one. It's nice for the Spa. Our RS12 system...

What are you using the pump for? How is it mounted? If it's for acid, bad bad things happen when you co-locate the pump and the tank.

I'd recommend Pool Pro, they have a lot of builds in the Arboretum area.

Would you expect 2200ppm salt level after 1.5 years of liquid chlorine with the pool maintained 12 months/year in hot texas? I was a bit taken aback this evening when I checked it for the first time. Should I be thinking about changing out the water?

If you are not running your pump constantly, then I can see there being an issue if there is very low flow through the cell. Also, the power to the C1900 should not be tied into the pump. You don't want it resetting all the time. Other than that, sounds like it's installed incorrectly or you...

a few questions: 1) Has the PH probe ever been calibrated? 2) Have you tested the water from the probe bowl itself to see what the PH is? 3) Is there water circulating through the probe bowl? 4) Where are the acid and chlorine being injected in the system?

I wish I could help you on that one. I'd assume you have a PDA8 system if installed in the last 2 years. Call Jandy customer support.

Figure out which unit you have. Out the box, the iAqualink comes in two versions for up to 8-relay models (PDA8, RS8). One for older control systems, and one for newer systems. If you have a larger system than an 8-relay unit, you will have to send your current CPU board to Jandy to upgrade...

Installation manual says to use the relay with any of the variable speed pumps.

I am pretty sure that the Aqualink in spa mode will not allow a chemlink system to dose/operate. It seems like this constraint would simplify the installation and control (dosing amounts, injection points, etc). Maybe there is a jumper or configuration I'm not aware of that allows it to operate...

Update on cooling towers: The amount of power needed to pressurize the towers and still maintain good circulation is more than what would be used by a Glacier for a pool this big. Though $2000 for a glacier will buy a lot of power....
