Have you tried an aftermarket Flow Switch replacement?

I need to replace the flow switch on my Circupool RJ60 after 4 years post-install. It's $70 from Circupool, but I see nearly similar ones for a lot less on Amazon. Has anyone tried these aftermarket ones and found them to be the comparable?

Aqua Products EVO line (not Aquabot!)

I did not. Since no one here had any experience to share, I sent a "test" email to their customer support to see how responsive they were. Well, it's been over a month, and no response. I also tried calling, but either was sent directly to a voicemail or forever hold. I bought the Aiper...

    Aiper Seagull Pro Review

I contacted them, too. First, they offered to send me a new one. I said no, just want to return. They asked for a video and told me they'd send me a prepaid label to return. I sent them the video and called to follow up, but for the last 3 hours, the number gives an automated message saying it's...

    Aiper Seagull Pro Review

This is exactly what mine is doing on the first try. So disappointed. I hope they will take it back during their 30 day guarantee without trouble.

Aqua Products EVO line (not Aquabot!)

This company is part of a conglomerate including Polaris and Jandy. But I don't see any posts about the Aqua Products robots and their performance here. I am considering this one: https://www.amazon.com/Aqua-Products-EVO604-Tangle-Less-Multi-Colored/dp/B08Y5Y558M?ref_=ast_sto_dp Any experience...

My Dolphin Active30 is a Lemon

I'm looking at the Polaris 9450--anything not made by Maytronics. What model are you thinking of getting?

My Dolphin Active30 is a Lemon

Mine is in the pool most of the time unless we are in the pool. I use the robot to clean the pool daily. My chlorine is through a SWG, and is between 2-4 (it has gone above 4 when we are getting the pool opened in spring, but I don't keep the vacuum in there until the chemicals are in range...

My Dolphin Active30 is a Lemon

Answering the questions above... No, I didn't buy it through my credit card-- I should have because such $$ items should be bought on credit card for the extended warranty. I wonder if Maytronics knows which units/models are lemons because they aren't even selling the Active30 it seems--though...

My Dolphin Active30 is a Lemon

Did I expect too much from my $900 robot? Had the Dolphin for 3 years, and each year, it's needed to be sent in for service. Maytronics covered 3 services (1 just outside of warranty). I had to pay shipping to their service person each time. First season, the power cord had to be replaced...

My experience with Maytronics customer service and warranty.

This happened with our Active30, and they made us ship the entire thing to them. It was under warranty. I heard they realized the power cords were bad after so many people had to make warranty claims. So they started shipping them out like they did for you, instead of making you send the...

Dolphin Active30 starts for a few seconds then stops

I've done the "self-test" which shows it's working fine. Left it completely unplugged from the unit and power supply overnight. Opened and checked impeller is clear and moves freely when doing self-test. I'm out of warranty. Power unit seems fine, too. Can anyone help me troubleshoot without an...

Need suggestions for a solar cover blanket for 25x40' in-ground pool

First time buying a solar cover, and wondering if it would be better to buy 2 smaller ones or 1 large one and get a reel. From all the posts, it looks like a clear Sun2Solar would be best, but I'd have to buy a slightly larger one and trim it down to fit our 25x40 rectangle.

SWG recommendations needed for 45K gal IG gunite pool

I just ordered the RJ60 from Discount Salt Pool as I saw the thread mentioning the great upgrade discount--which ends today! Anything else I should buy to get started (apart from salt)?

SWG recommendations needed for 45K gal IG gunite pool

I typically use 3-4 gals of 8.25% chlorine per week to maintain my pool during very warm weather, and then less when the weather cools. The pool is only open end of April through October. I have been on the fence about an SWG due to the cost for a unit large enough to chlorinate the pool and...

    2019 Bleach Prices

Thank you for the heads up on Lidl. I was just there and didn't realize the concentration had changed. I didn't buy any because they were from early Feb. I'll likely head back to Walmart for Pool Essentials until they stop carrying it late in the season. HD and Lowes in our area store bleach...

Pricing Muriatic Acid 20 Baume 31.45%

Hope you get to enjoy a longer pool season out in SC! I see you had a CYA of 200+ in your signature--did you drain and refill to get it to 50? I'm at or above 180 CYA due to the previous homeowner's love of pucks, but will be draining and resurfacing the pool in spring.

Pricing Muriatic Acid 20 Baume 31.45%

Thanks--I found it after searching for hydrochloric acid instead of muriatic. It's at a store not too far from me and worth the price difference. I don't understand why they charge more for their brand "swimming pool" muriatic acid.

Pricing Muriatic Acid 20 Baume 31.45%

If anyone in the Washington DC area could direct me to the best pricing for Muriatic Acid I'd appreciate it. My local Home Depot stores do not carry the 31.45%, and Lowes sells it for $7.88/gal. My local pool service company will sell it to me for $7.99/gal. Another pool supply company told...

Need advice for FC level as CYA very high

Thank you--I will up the FC to avoid an algae bloom. Do I just keep doing this until the pool is closed for winter? We are resurfacing next spring, so all the water will be drained/new then. If I develop an algae bloom before closing, should I just close early under these circumstances?

Need advice for FC level as CYA very high

Yes, I meant calcium hypochlorite :). The Clorox tub I have says "longlasting" Xtra Blue chlorinating tabs--saw the post above saying don't use it. The Clorox shock packets say "4 in 1" shock plus, main ingredient sodium-dichlor. This is all what the previous owner was using. So he was...

    Equipment overhaul & need advice

Thanks all! I'll focus on an Intellichlor when working with the pool company and check for a rebate. That would be great. I wish I could find a pool company that follows TFP recommendations. Does the pricing for the pump and install seem reasonable?

    Equipment overhaul & need advice

My single speed Whisperflo pump is on its last legs due to the previous owner's neglect and improper wiring. The pool company we've narrowed down for installation and pool opening/closing has recommended this VS pump: Jandy's Variable Speed FloPro Pump for $1160 and a Flowvis Meter for $130...

Need advice for FC level as CYA very high

Need suggestions to keep water quality good until I close the pool sometime in the next month. These are the test results today: FC 8 CC 0 CH 450 PH 7.5 TA 120 CYA 180 (I used the steps from TFP where CYA is over 90). Since buying the house, I've been able to keep the water crystal clear...

    Resurfacing questions/recommendations requested

Hello! We are exploring options for resurfacing, and I came across this company which applies a fiberglass type material on any pool type including gunite: http://www.eastcoast-pools.com/swimming-pool-resurfacing.htm. I didn't see any posts mention their material: Fibreglass. Yes, misspelled...

    Help me get started please

Thank you! I'll get some fresh bleach today. The picture is very helpful--we have .1ppm iron in our water, which I think is due to the acid neutralizer treatment system attached to it. Should I still get a filter to use for water going into the pool? P Also Poolmath says to drain 73% of...
