Installing a Hayward Dyna Skim skimmer on Intex 12x24 xtr rectangle pool

I ended up ordering it yesterday anyway, is an upgrade in both pump and the SWG for less than a typical SWG.

Installing above ground over previously filled in in-ground pool - can you do it?

I did this last year with no ill effects so far.

Installing a Hayward Dyna Skim skimmer on Intex 12x24 xtr rectangle pool

I see you have the Krystal Clear system, is that one working good for you? I also need to replace the crappy one that came with my pool and was looking at this one, see it has mixed reviews. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07TN3JQ2P/?coliid=I3AERWQMAQ1S6L&colid=22R56IVNVUQDI&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Installing a Hayward Dyna Skim skimmer on Intex 12x24 xtr rectangle pool

I am looking to do this on mine, what are pros/cons to the std vs widemouth skimmer for this application? I have the wall mount skimmer which is better than nothing, but certainly no where near as good as a proper wall skimmer.

What to do when we go away for 4-5 days?

Why can you not use them in a feeder? The website says the same thing, but don't understand why.

What to do when we go away for 4-5 days?

I was just looking for some Cal Hypo pucks, not easy to find. Granular form for shock, sure, but not so easy with pucks.

What to do when we go away for 4-5 days?

I was just thinking about this very thing. On my last pool, I installed a peristaltic pump with a bleach storage tank so it was no issue at all. However on my new pool, it's all just manual and I have my CYA up to 50, using straight bleach for the chlorine. Given my CYA, would rather not...

Ground prep and install for Bestway 12x24 (Costco)

The one I have that connects to the pump, not to be confused with the pool outlet itself, does NOT connect to a garden hose. It does not have any threads, only barbs to retain a couple different sized hoses. I read the instructions and it clearly says it is supposed to connect to a garden...

    Any SWG convert regrets?

Interesting @Twinkle toes19 . I do agree it's likely not a monetary savings at all until you get to a larger pool, but to me it would be simply less to do on a daily basis.

How flat (not level) does the ground need to be under foam?

I'd make it more level than that, should be within 1/2" or better. I just installed mine and got it really level, but the overall ground is a bit lumpy, not perfectly flat all over. I also used foam underneath (1/2" thick pink rigid foam) and it helped out a lot in regards to how lumpy it...

Ground prep and install for Bestway 12x24 (Costco)

We may not have the same exact fittings. After looking them over more carefully, it is clear that the one one the right (below) is for the main drain on the bottom/end of the pool and fits a garden hose. This does not separate from the collar, it's a one-way snap fit between the fitting and...

Ground prep and install for Bestway 12x24 (Costco)

Still quite ghetto looking, but the main install is done. Now planning for a stairs to come off of the top deck to a lower deck which will likely be on far end and pump side of pool.

Oh ya, that makes sense, the one for the main drain. I will check to see but do believe you are right!

What's the hottest your pool gets?

On the heels of my last post. So I am literally filling my pool for the first time, almost done today. I just checked with a digital thermometer...ground water is 78.4, the pool is already at 82.7. I took quite a while to fill (over the course of like 2-1/2 days) as I had a filter on the hose...

    Intex SWG high salt error

I am looking for a low cost SWG for my small pool and saw some references to this unit. The link still works, but now they are TRIPLE the cost!

What's the hottest your pool gets?

Well, glad to be out of the lunacy that Seattle and it's suburbs have created. Wish we could have the same pool here that we had there, it was amazing. Even more sucky is the fact that our house had a proper IG pool, but the POs filled it in like 5 years ago. Aside from the high humidity...

    Any SWG convert regrets?

I am lured by the SWG ease of use, but am also concerned about relying on something electronic. I am not old or anti-electronics, but am old and hopefully wise enough to appreciate the fragility of electronics. I am a bit old school and like to know I am in control of all aspects related to...

What's the hottest your pool gets?

When we lived in WA state, north of Seattle, our pool hit a high of 88. I think that was about 3 years ago. That was a 20x40, 36k gallon pool with a solar cover.

A few more progress pix as well over the past week.
