I use to find 6% on sale all the time for. 99 a regular bottle. Now its usually $1.79. At the local piggly wiggly they will only.sell me 4 bottles at a time because i might be making crystal meth with it :-) that 1lb@$3.24 for cal-hypo is just the price at the closest place. Bet i could beat it...

Yeah, im going with cal-hypo. My ch is low. I figure 1 lbs of cal-hypo = a big (182oz?) bottle of 6%. 1Lbs of cal-hypo costs me bout $3.24 and bleach has went way up round here. $3.00 a big bottle.... Thats up. 50 since last summer!!

HOLY @!$&! Every day I've been putting in 4 182oz bottles of 6% and every evening at dark my chlorine is right at 22ppm. Today I decided to double it. Today I put in 8 big bottles of 6%. Guess what my chlorine was at at dark......GUESS!...........22ppm.........same as usual! :shock: WHAT DA HE**!

Could mustard algae be the culprit even after all the chlorine i've added?Could the powdery white substance in places on the bottom be dead/dieing mustard algae?I've had a problem with it in the past but i'm having a hard time believing that there is anything "alive"in this pool.

No debris in the bottom.I have slid the leaf net all around the pool and even dove to the bottom with a mask.Some white powdery substance in places but thats it.
