    Ooops. Wrong HP pump?

Bleached it; cleared right up. Going to pool school this weekend. ;)

    Ooops. Wrong HP pump?

I am running it 24x7. I'll grab a water reading next. What's the best way to swish the sand around carefully? I think I will shock the pool with bleach.

    Ooops. Wrong HP pump?

Hey guys. I'm back. I replaced my Intelliflo 3HP system with a Hayward 1HP pump the local store had. My pool was a crazy green since I waited a couple weeks before replacing the pump. After the first night, on boost (SWG), my pool turned milky white. A couple days later, I could see the...

    Kleen-a-tron

This robot stopped climbing the walls. It will move around the bottom erratically. As I look at it, it seems as though it's not "sticking" to the wall. It attempts to go up but begins to float away from the wall, like there isn't enough water jet pressure to keep it stuck to the wall...

Intelliflo died; looking for cheap replacement.

I wanted to say, "Thanks!" to everyone who posted. I replaced the Intelliflo with a 1HP pump yesterday. My lime green pool went milky white overnight (thank goodness). The water is circulating really well (judging by the "pull" of the skimmer compared against the setting I ran before). It's...

Intelliflo died; looking for cheap replacement.

Thanks for the suggestion! I always meant to wire into that but never did. I ran the pump in manual mode on 30GPM 24/7 in the previous years. Averaged about 490W. ;)

Intelliflo died; looking for cheap replacement.

No. I do not have an indoor control panel.

Intelliflo died; looking for cheap replacement.

Breaker is fine; fuses are fine. Display is completely dead. No LEDs whatsoever. Buying a new drive unit seems to cost more than buying a whole new, Pentail WhisperFlo WFDS-4. Since my KWH is around 9 cents, I was thinking of getting the WhisperFlo as long as 1HP is enough. Thanks! Steve

Intelliflo died; looking for cheap replacement.

No waterfalls or anything fancy. I do have four jets that i can turn on/off that shoot water from one side of the pool into the pool - but I don't like turning them on. They are too noisy. I really don't swim so this is just to keep the water clean. Someone might swim in the thing once a month.

Intelliflo died; looking for cheap replacement.

Hey guys, I checked power. It's all good. I removed the pump. Broke the bolts off the base (rusted out). I guess my installer didn't hear of stainless (grin). I'm ready to buy a new pump (maybe get the Intelliflo fixed later and use it as a backup). Will a 1HP be enough for my setup...

Intelliflo died; looking for cheap replacement.

It's a little less than .10c per kwh.

Intelliflo died; looking for cheap replacement.

I know I'm being a cheapskate, but I'm looking for options. I opened my pool this year and everything worked fine. I happened to turn off the breaker to the Intelliflo and afterwards, it won't come back online. Fuses are good. Not sure what happened. My bud thinks I need to buy a new...

    Flashing "Check Flow"

By the way, I am now seeing the exact same problem (check flow, even though flow is good) and 000 salt PPM. Starting the diag/web searching now.

    Sand filter question [SD80]

I can "hear" water swishing through the sand filter -- is that normal? Also, is there a way to determine how much pressure I should be seeing with my setup? At 40GPM, I'm seeing about 14-15PSI. At 20PSI, I backwash. If I up that to 50GPM, it averages around 20PSI. If I go to 75GPM, it...

New pool, new guy, new questions.

Just an update -- much better now. I still have alot of sediment that likes to sink to the bottom. I have been brushing it toward the two drains at the deep end. It clouds up the pool for a little bit and the filter does its thing. I've been "brush" my liner for a week this way. Would a...

New pool, new guy, new questions.

Hey guys, I have tons of questions, being a pool noob. Here's the background: Bought a Kafko 20x40 setup; steel. One wide mouth skimmer, two main drains [going to one 1.5" pipe], two returns [1.5" each]. The kit came with a Pentaire SD80 [1.5" setup]. I upgraded the pump to an Intelliflow...
