So my solution to the problem with The Pool Cleaner was to buy a new one. It cost me $419 at Walmart.com with free shipping. Hopefully it will last another 10 years. It is just like my old one, nothing fancy, but it is being sold by Hayward instead.

The pressure on the filter suddenly increased from 15 to 18 a few days ago. Makes me wonder if the filter cartridges had gone bad. Maybe that is why the pool water remains a little cloudy.
