You are both extremely lucky. I lost one of my best friends to a very similar accident several years ago. He rolled a Case 580 and was trapped under a stream of water. I'm glad you were both OK. Sometimes its the most routine tasks that can become the most dangerous.

I asked the same question and Bama Ramblers advice works just fine. The water drains very quickly and its much easier than using the garden hose.

I have mine aimed away from the skimmer (Counterclockwise) and angled slightly downward. This has been very successful for me and actually drives minor debris up from the floor of the pool and eventually into the skimmer.

I've got the exact same problem. My entire bottom track on the low side of the pool is covered in standing rain water. I will dig a trench as soon as the rain stops and bury dain pipe. Any idea how far down the pipe should be?
