Can I get algae if CC = 0?

Hi, We've done an OK job maintaining FC - actually, we probably haven't kept it where it needs to be given our CYA level. In any case, we did a drop test and show CC = 0...hence my question: "Can I get algae with CC (Combined Chloramines) = 0?" Thanks! Brad

Iron Stains Back After AA Treatment

I did the AA treatment and it worked great. It took a week for the pool to start holding FC, but it finally did. Then we put 6 cal-hypo pucks in the skimmer and a couple things happened: 1] pool got cloudy 2] stains came back The cloudiness cleared overnight, and is common (as I understand)...

Chlorine Demand from Ascorbic Acid Treatment

Jason, I tried to take both the 2 lbs ascorbic and 10 lbs citric into account. 12 pounds divided by 2.5 = 5... in any case, this all assumes that the 2.5 ratio is right.... But Richard seems to have the calculation to estimate 18 ppm of FC to knock out the 12 pounds of acid. I've put 12...

Chlorine Demand from Ascorbic Acid Treatment

Ascorbic Acid treatment was successful. All numbers look good (except CYA high at 80), but I can't hold FC -- it drops about 2 ppm per hour. I put in 2 pounds ascorbic acid, and 10 pounds citric acid, into my 30,000 pool. How much chlorine will it take to burn out any remaining...

    My Beautiful Chlorine Monster! Help!

New to the site and really appreciate it. Thanks! pH - 7.5 TA - 110 FC - 7 (but falling fast) CC - 0 CH - 100 CYA - 80 Pool is amazingly crystal clear but it is gobbling chlorine...about 15 ppm per day (including 5ppm at night per the FC night test) I've been busy (too busy perhaps) the...
