    What's your current pool temp?

Here in the UK summer appears to have been cancelled. We had one week of hot weather back in June where we had a few days of air temps of 86 plus, but since then we've rarely seen it above 70. As for the pool water, my little 14ft bestway is heated by a 10kw heat pump. Its been running for 7...

    Advice on pavers, PLEASE!

I sunk my pavers to be level with the ground. I also used some foam insulation under the pool that has made for a nice surface to walk on when in the pool.

Observation from first weekend with pool and grandkids

I have five children, eldest is 13. When they are in our 14ft Bestway pool it has a significant amount of movement on the top rail. I'd guess there's around 2 to 3 inches of swaying. I had assumed this was normal?

Does ground need to be perfectly flat if using sand? Intex

Looks pretty level to me! Nice work. I used 2ft square pavers that were around 1.5 inch thick on my much smaller 14ft pool. One benefit is that they gave me a bit of scope for the frame to move a little and the for the legs to remain on the pavers.

    intex sand filter setup help

Mine only has one on the pump not on the filter housing. I think ink I had to run the pumped water to drain first then do a rinse before tuning it in normal filter mode. Only took a few mins to do but is sort of cleans the sand before you use it on the pool. The instructions for this should...

Heat pump for an above ground pool

Whilst not on the same scale as you guys, I have a heat pump for our 14ft bestway pool. Its a 10kw (34k BTU) Hydro S. Have to say its fantastic! Our pool only holds around 11000 liters and I have the heat pump set to run for a maximum of 6 hours per day (I run it in the morning as my...

    Yet another extension cord issue..

Interesting to hear the various ways that people have their electrical gear set up. Here in the UK i believe that the a GFCI is more commonly referred to as an RCD (residual current device). Its normal practice in the UK for all the circuits in a house to be protected by an RCD that is...

is this pump ok for my pool???

Crikey! That's a lot of filters you get through, sand should be better for you. If I were you I'd wait to have the pump in your hands before deciding on adapters. That way you will have a test idea of what you need. I can go one one better on the kids, I have five! They are in every day for...

is this pump ok for my pool???

My view would be go with the bigger one as it would be useful if (when?) you get a bigger pool. The sammer one will cost about 15p to run for 8 hours (based on 10p per kWh) the big one will cost 45p for 8 hours. As Cilla would say, the descion is yours!

is this pump ok for my pool???

Looks the same as the pipes that came with my Bestway pool. Do they just push on to spigots on the pool? If so then these are the adapters that I used to enable the pump to connect to my pool. Bestway Hose Adapter - Grey: Amazon.co.uk: Sports Outdoors

Pool up and running but a couple of issues?

Well a bit of an update. I have drained the pool and added a bit more insulation under the bits where it was missing. Also now have the replacement part for the bad leg. It was the T piece that has been made wrong. Have also fitted the Hydro S 10kW heat pump. I have the filter pump wired...

is this pump ok for my pool???

That's the one I have. Takes around 13 kg of sand. Works fine for me. On the adapters it really really depends on what's on your pool. Can you post a picture of the connections on your pool and measure them?

is this pump ok for my pool???

I'm sure that would be more than adequate. It has twice the flow rate of my pump that is keeping my 14ft pool clean. You might need need some adapters to get it to connect to your pool, not sure what connectors your pool will have. Only down side is you'll need 35kg of sand and it's sold in...

I've got this one from eBay. Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter and Pump 1,050gal/hr #28644 | eBay but they appear to be all sold out now. It was the cheapes I found in the UK. Don't forget that you'll need to buy some sand for it as well. EDIT BESTWAY POOL SAND FILTER 800GPH IDEAL 15FT AND...

    filter pump power converter help

Ronsplc is right in that the transformer and adapter will make the pump work, but I can't find anyone in the uk who sell the transformer. If you got another transformer with the same rating it would work but it's unlikely to have a compatible plug so you'd need to rewire the low voltage end...

Footprint considering pavers for 14' Intex Ultra Frame?

i have a best way 14ft by 42in pool. I set my 2ft sq pavers in a circle to match the frame, easier to do this when you have assembled the top ring of the frame, I found. The outside diameter of my pavers is around 16ft. Hope this helps!

    filter pump power converter help

The pump is 12v AC and needs a 5 amp supply. You don't want to plug it into the mains! I've had no luck in finding a suitable transformer in the UK from my very quick google. The manual for the pump http://www.intexcorp.nl/proifv/proifv_dl_loadblob?EMTKEY=16849 shows that it comes with its...

    Power cord is HOT

I think a 1.5 hp motor will draw around 5 amps on 220v or 10 amps on 110 amps. Your 15 amp breaker should be fine. Sounds like your pump is failing.

    12ft intex pump/filter recommendations

Didn't mean change every day but I did clean every day. Could be because I have 5 children and we would get a lot of grass in there. The filter was always filthy at the end of the day.

    12ft intex pump/filter recommendations

Well that depends how much the granules are! I've seen the clear water ones in amazon for £10. I think they are 55% strength and you get 1000g so that's 550g of chlorine for the £10. To get the same amount of chlorine from Asda bleach you'd need 55 litres or around 28 off 2 litre bottles for a...

Need Help - Pool not level, single mom trying to fix on my own.

Can you share any pictures of the install, as it may help people to better understand the issue. I set pavers into the ground for my pool and made sure they were level even if the rest of the ground was a bit out. Another option would be to use pavers on just the low side? i'm sure someone...

Pool up and running but a couple of issues?

On closer inspection it's not the leg that's faulty, it's the tee piece that it slots into. The tee piece has the hole for the leg locking pin in the wrong place. I've tried to contact bestway in the uk for replacement but their after sales is poor to say the least! I plan to drain the pool a...
