    Is shocking necessary.........

Is shocking necessary if I maintain the clorine in the recommended range? Pool store man told me I need to shock at least once a week to actually kill the bacteria. My pool is crystal clear but now I wondering if it is full of bacteria? Thanks for your comments. Mark.

    Safely adding bleach

I actually pour in the bleach while in the pool. Just be careful not to pour on yourself. I walk around the pool slowly pouring and mixing with my other hand. This may be crazy but it has worked so far.

    Will CYA harm liner?

I added granular CYA to my skimmer yesterday and I noticed this morning that some of it has gotten by the sand filter and is sitting on bottom of pool. Will this harm my liner? Also, shouldn't the sand filter caught all of the CYA?

    Backfilling an Above Ground Pool

I recently installed an AGP on my sloped back yard. I built a 2 ft. retaining wall out of railroad timbers and backfilled with dense grade aggregage to sit pool on. After doing this, I still had to dig down approx. 2 ft. next to my house (within 4 feet of house) to level area for pool. Pool is...

I just installed my pool last week and I am new to pool care and I am a little nervous. I have a bottle of polyquat 60 that the pool man gave me when I...
