Ok so I messed up. Now I know why my ph did go up after adding 4 lbs of borax it was because I should have added 9 lbs. the 4lbs was for soda ash. Oops... Sorry.

The results are from the pool store but I also checked it with my 6 way test strips and it said 50. I also just checked my ph again after adding a whole box of borax 4 lbs. 14 oz. about 3 hrs. ago and it hasn't went up any. I am using drops to test that and the strips. Maybe I haven't given it...

This might be a stupid question but I am thinking of buying a fountain that attaches to my return jet to keep water cooler but was thinking that if it is hooked up to the return jet would that not cause problems with circullation?
