What is actually happening when you lower and raise the bump handle on a D.E. filter to lower the psi? I imagine that it is releasing some of the D.E. or other sediments from the tentacles/fingers but why this would have an effect on the psi i can't figure out. Just a question of curiosity really.

Are you hosing off the filter fingers that are attached to the top of the filter (not sure what they're called but look like fingers/tentacles etc.) of all the old D.E.? I know you said your cleaning out the filter but i had to clean out my filter and fingers and replace the d.e. three times...

i was interested in getting an in ground pool light, one that lights under water. I don't have anything previously installed so i assume i would have to go with something battery operated that would attach to the vinyl or be anchored on the ground. Anyone have any recomendations or suggestions?
