Check your warranty to see when it expires if you install yourself vs having it installed by a pro. I learned the hard way with Pentair pump that went out quickly.

Regarding warranty, make sure you understand the contingencies they place on installations that aren't done by a certified installer. I replaced a pump last year that was noisy, but working fine. I bought a 2-speed pentair whisperflo last spring from on online supplier, installed it myself...

Does anyone have experience with Automatic Pool Covers out of Indiana?

I think I have it pinned down -- cover is made by Automatic Pool Covers in IN. 18 oz vinyl cover with "vinyl" webbing, 1/4" woven nylon rope with Kevlar core. Does anyone have thoughts or experience with this cover manufacturer or choice of materials?

The pictures certainly answer that very clearly. I'm baffled that a sales guy would say they run vinyl in that channel. Maybe a misunderstood him.

Any thoughts on who might me making this cover? It looks different than the PCS covers I've had in the past.

That's what I was thinking also. I've never seen a sample that included the rope. I'll call them to see if they can bring one over.

Has anyone seen a cover where the vinyl goes all the way into the channel and around the rope instead of webbing? CoverCare is telling me that's the way their covers are built, but I can't find anything similar on the net. Webbing seems to be the chronic problem on my covers. Thoughts?

I have a quote from CoverCare and it seems very reasonable and the representative was professional and helpful. I just can't find any reviews on them on the forum. Does anyone have experience with them? I've also posted another question about the cover webbing deteriorating on my covers...

Thanks. Just to be clear, what price point are you considering the Intelliflo and Superflo and Superflo VS? The Intelliflo's I've seen can be purchased for around $850 and the Superflo 2 spd for about $490. Does that correspond with your assumptions? I'm a newb on this stuff.

First - thanks for all the great info on the site. The advice is usually very straightforward and the site is so easy to use. It has saved me hundreds of dollars. I'm looking for advice on a new pump/motor. I have a 26k vinyl inground pool, Goldline SWG, heater, sand filter, skimmer, drain...
