    Thanks zea3. Question...when looking at pumps, I'm finding pumps categorized by gph instead of motor size. I'm thinking that a 1/2-3/4 Hp pump will be a 4000 gph. Sound about right?

    Thanks for prompt reply. Pool calculator seems to have difficulty with "3.5 ft" but I would guess my gallonage to be in the area of 5000 as opposed to 55500. I will review the article suggested.

    Bought an Intex 15x42 pool last year and battled many problems. ie. Algea, debris, etc. Drained and refilled 5 times in 4 months.
