    Heat Pump Advice

Here is my little report: it is installed, I had to run extra wires for HP, existing ones were too small. Pump is running, water from return is noticeably warmer. It +20C day it will warm up the pool by 3C. Not bad. Pros: Great price Quick delivery by Costco (1 week, straight into my garage)...

14K gallons. 50K pump can use existing wires (I have 3 wires size 12 in a conduit already done) and standard 20amp breaker, also it is smaller that 85K pump. I did not want monster pump next to my pool.

It is humid indeed. Temperatures - In May and Sept it is 50F min, 66F max. June-Aug - 60F min, 80F max (close to Buffalo, NY). I am really looking at using a heat pump in May, June and September. Also, soon we will have variable electricity rates with 5.5c/kW rate on weekends and after 9PM...

    Heat Pump Advice

My choice is: 50K BTU for $1,699.99 83K BTU for $2,399.99 112K BTU for $2,699.99 So bigger pump is cheaper per BTU bit much larger and I am afraid noisier. I plan to run it from 9PM Friday to bring temp up by 10 degrees by Saturday 11AM. Will that work?

    Heat Pump Advice

Thanks everybody for posting a costco info. Their price is almost identical to US prices but you save on border headaches. I have 15K gal pool and still debating to go with 50K BTU, 83K BTU or 112K BTU. Any feedback on performance of a small heatpump (50K BTU) will be greatly appreciated.

    Using silicone around skimmer

looks like I found the problem - liner under the gasket. As you can see on pics, it is tucked under the gasket and causing uneven thickness of the gasket. I cut those triangles off, placed linet ON TOP of the gasket and reinstalled skimmer - no silicon yet. It holds. I will start filling pool so...

    Using silicone around skimmer

I have brand new skimmer on new pool installed - cut the liner and isolation foam, insert gasket, tight-up all 10 screws. Tested it with bucket of water into the skimmer - can see 2 leaks on the outside, both bottom corners (probably same problem on the inside). Tried to tight-up screws even...

Equipment pad for 15x30 on-ground pool (pictures)

Hi, i am planning my equipment pad (1-1/5 pump, sand filter, SWG, maybe heater later). I am thinking about 3x4 concrete pad 4 inches thick, lowered into the ground (one foot or so) so sand filter do not sticking out (will cover everything with wooden deck later). Wanted to run it by you folks...
