Indiana Pool Finished and Updated Pics

We installed our Pool in the fall of 2007. It has been the best decision we have made and the time we spend outside in the summer with the kids and our friends has grown through the years. I thought it would be interesting to show a little bit of the transformation of our backyard from 2007 to...

Headed to Stenner from SWG....Question on Location of Tank

I will protect the tubing in conduit where it exits the building to the pad, about 2 feet. Loved my SWG for the first few years and then continual issues with the control board and cell have been a real pain. I have been using the TFP method for a couple of years manually adding chlorine and...

Headed to Stenner from SWG....Question on Location of Tank

Morning! I am planning to install, like many on this site, a Stenner and tank to replace my SWG. I have it all figured out except for the placement of the tank and pump. I have a pool house that is directly behind my pool equipment. Has anyone installed in a shed or building? I will be...

Thanks and Please Take Advice from this forum!

I opened my pool to a greenish tint this spring after a long, hard winter. We have had the pool for 7 seasons and this was my first time ever having Algae in my pool due in large part because I have tried to follow the suggestions/advice on this forum. Anyway, on to my point. Please, Please...

Empty gallons of pool shock stuffed in the skimmer to serve the purpose that you described.

    Indiana Pool Finished!

With an auto cover you have to leave the water at the same level as in the summer. The water in the pool has to support the snow/water load at all times. If you drain the water below the skimmer there is too much stress put on the cover and it will likely fail under heavy load.

    Indiana Pool Finished!

My pool has been fantastic. We just finished adding another porch on to the house connecting the pool house to the house. I have had Zero issues (knock on wood) with my auto cover being used as my winter cover here in Indiana.

3 year old liner has an issue

We had the exact same issue with our liner after 3 years. My pool builder told me it was defective and replaced the liner at no charge. Mine was covered 100% for the first 5 years and then the prorated warranty would be applied. The only thing I was out......28K gallons of water, 800 lbs of...

    Indiana Pool Finished!

Yes!! Not a single problem. The snow melted and I pumped all the water off the cover....simple as that! At one point this winter, I could not even tell I had a pool other than the diving board and hand rails. Any other questions, let me know.

    Automatic pool covers, thoughts?

One last note.....I did have 3" of water over the entire surface of the cover last summer. We received an enormous amount of rain in a short period of time and my cover pump was not placed on the pool. Again, there was no damage. Jason is correct, we cannot let any water out of our pool in...

    Automatic pool covers, thoughts?

Interesting.......I will shoot a photo of my pool here in Indiana as it sits today. It will be sometime later when I arrive back at the house, but I can assure you that my CoverStar is holding up about 12-15" of snow just fine. As a matter of fact, I emailed my pool builder after reading this...

liner divots in new pool! Worried...

I will chime in on this one......here is a pic from my build 3 years ago. The people in the pool putting in the floor are the owners of the pool company. They did a fantastic job as you can see from the photo. BUT, when I turn the light on in the pool, it looks just as you described. There...

Best ways to clean grease from a wooden deck?

Try Dawn Dish Soap. Works great on grease. I have used on concrete lots of times and it pulls the grease right out. You might need a stiff brush to scrub.......put it right on the stain and then lubricate with water and the brush.

Please Help! Is this Black Algae on my Vinyl Pool Liner??

Our liner is 3 years old and this has developed in the past year. I noticed that it was happening, but it did not appear to be getting any worse. It in only happening on one side of the pool, the south side in this case. As noted in my sig, I have a SWG and Auto Cover. I have not had the...

    Indiana Pool Finished!

Monkeylove....Pool was installed by "Backyard Pools By Design" out of Fort Wayne. They are a first class operation and did an outstanding job on our pool build. Autocover was the single best investment we made in the pool. No need for a winter cover at all as it serves that function very well...

winter mesh cover or coverstar cover as winter cover

I use "Greased Lightning" that I get from my hardware store. I mix it up in a hand pump sprayer and apply. Do not put to much on......I spray around the edges and work to the center with a pool brush. This is what the pool installer told me to use. I have seen numerous cover cleaners that...

winter mesh cover or coverstar cover as winter cover

I have the Coverstar Auto Cover and it is used for the Winter cover. We have a decent amount of snow and cold weather here in Indiana and have seen no effects on the cover. My cover is the undertrack model and was installed when we put the pool in. Just remember to not drain the pool water...
