Thank you CU and Jason. I should have shocked last night -- we had wicked thunderstorms this morning and it was generally not a great day. Will brush and shock as soon as the sun goes off the pool this evening and hope FC drops below shock level to allow for a swim tomorrow afternoon.

Definitely didn't intend to brag in the other thread. Polyquat has worked for me on occasion and thought I'd mention it. Given my inability to stay on top of FC, I believe my water would be pretty hazy right now without it. Thanks for your offering your continued support.

I put the stabilizer in a stocking in front of the return rather than in the skimmer, so am assuming backwash not an issue?

Should say that reading the test can be difficult for middle-aged eyes. Have to make sure I bring the reading glasses out to the pool. Yes, I rely on the sun to help me, or just a bright blue sky.

Thanks Dave. We didn't actually drain the pool -- just lost a few inches to evaporation which I imagine would have left the CYA in the pool. Good idea on adding enough to increase CYA by 20ppm and see what happens. Will try that. Thanks.
