    Pump won't run at all

I don't have anything else with those prongs to try. I guess I'll find out when the new pump arrives tomorrow and I hook it up....

    Pump won't run at all

I unplugged the pump and then turned the switch on, it did not trip. As soon as I plugged the pool pump back in it tripped. So I'm guessing it's the pump... Thank you so much for your help!

    Pump won't run at all

It is not the breaker. It is the reset button on the outlet that pops out every time I turn on the switch at the pool. I just plugged a fan into the outlet and it works. So it's only when I turn on the switch for the pool pump. This pic is the switch setup at the pump

    Pump won't run at all

So I ordered a new pump online last night. However, I'm outside messing with breakers again. The GFI outlet below the timer/panel box is what keeps popping. When I turn the above lever to OFF then hit the reset button on the GFI outlet then I turn the above lever to ON, the GFI button pops...

    Pump won't run at all

After resetting all of the breakers again, I got my pump to start running again for a while. The breaker was flipped again the next day and I'm having trouble getting it to start again so something is definitely wrong somewhere. I see I have a leak where I circled it in the photo. Could the...

    Pump won't run at all

Fortunately, I had it at shock level with bleach and had already been brushing the floor and walls and it looks pretty good for now. Pool store wants 299.99 for a new pump! And that's with me just picking it up and doing it myself. Oh well, probably going to have to bite the bullet eventually...

    Pump won't run at all

The other part of my dilemma is this... My husband and I are separated and he's not willing to deal with it. We're listing our house for sale in less than a week. I'm clueless about this stuff and it's the last thing I want/need to be worrying about right now. Wondering if I should just call a...

    Pump won't run at all

Hello there. I just opened my pool on Tuesday without any complications. Until a few hours later... A breaker tripped. I turned it back on and it seemed to run fine. Wednesday, the breaker tripped again, turned it back on. Thursday (yesterday) I came home from work and nothing is running. No...

    4 day vacation coming up

Yes, manual dosing. The only person I would really trust to do that is my mom who is going on vacation with us.

    4 day vacation coming up

Summer is here and it's just about time for our family beach vacation. My pool has been crystal clear and numbers have been perfect and I'd love nothing more than to come home to the same sparkling water. Should I just bring it up to shock level with bleach and let it run 24/7?

    TA question

My pH is currently 7.6 so I'll let it hang there till the pH creeps up then add the acid to bring them down together. Thank you for the color change tip. That makes sense.

    TA question

Hello. My pool is finally Crystal clear after SLAMing a few weeks ago and my levels are all pretty much perfect. I just want to make sure about the TA though. Pool Math says TA range should be 50-90+ and the card that comes with the test kit says 100-120 for a manual chlorine pool. So I'm just...

    Still cloudy, 5th day SLAMing

We opened our pool last weekend and it was very green. We started the SLAM process Tuesday (this is Saturday) after balancing TA-110 and pH-7.2. CYA was good at 50. Our shock target is 20 and we've been pretty consistent at keeping it there. The green faded to cloudy blue by the next morning...

OK to close w/ low TA?

I'm about ready to close...all of my levels look good except the TA, it's only 50. Is it ok to close like that? Other levels: CYA - 70 FC - 32 pH - 7.5 Thanks!

Just refilled due to high CYA and algae, help

Good morning. I took your suggestion and just completed the OCLT. I actually did not have any chlorine loss. My FC stayed at 22. I'm still concerned though as the water has a tint of green left and is still cloudy. If I need to SLAM, I'll have time this weekend. So I think maybe I'll brush the...

Just refilled due to high CYA and algae, help

Oops, sorry, I forgot to mention the green part. So the 3 jugs is for shock level. Prior to draining, it was very cloudy green for a few weeks and it still has the green tint with the dilution. I used hundreds of dollars worth of pool store chemicals with no results, so I'm done with them and...

Just refilled due to high CYA and algae, help

I followed the recommendations I received the other day and, with a CYA of 180, drained all but a foot of my pool. I had the pool refilled earlier today and just retested everything. Here are my new levels: FC = 11 CC = 0 CH - 150 TA = 70 CYA = 70 (I was surprised it's still this high) pH = a...

Used test kit for the 1st time, Help!

I know you guys don't usually go by Pool Store test results. I had my water tested at a pool store about 2 weeks ago and my iron level there was 0.2. - - - Updated - - - I drained my pool last night and only left about a foot or a little more of water in it. I'm ready to get to the root of my...

Used test kit for the 1st time, Help!

Thanks again. I did play around with the pool math a bit. It's telling me to empty 78% of my water. Yikes, I was hoping not to empty that much, but I'll do what I have to do. We have a well, so I'll probably end up having to have water brought in. So... wait till it's filled to test everything...

Used test kit for the 1st time, Help!

Re: used test kit for the 1st time, Help! Thank you. I did buy a speed stirrer. I live in central PA and refill with well water. I just rechecked CYA with 50% tap water... I cannot see the dot past the 90 line, so CYA 180!? I'm already in the process of draining some pool water. Oh, and I had...

Used test kit for the 1st time, Help!

Hello there, I posted a thread a week or so ago about my green pool and all the money I've been literally dumping into it thanks to the pool store, and have gotten no results. I ordered the recommended test kit (the big package, forgive me - I forget the name), and I just used it for the first...

    High pH, green water

Thank you. I'll order the test kit as soon as I can. I went back to the pool store today to have them test the water again...I didn't buy anything though. I know you say their results aren't accurate, but here's what they gave me... CYA 128 TC and FC both 15 pH 7.7 (lowest it's been all year) TA...

    High pH, green water

Hi, I am new to this site. I've read through a few threads and I'm not quite sure what my problem is this summer with my pool. We just had it installed towards the end of summer in 2014. My first two summers I had a Crystal Clear Pool. The majority of this summer it has been cloudy green, and...
