    Ruling out a plumbing issue??

Then yeah if you isolated the pool by plugging off the skimmer and the inlets and its still leaking then its gotta be in the pool somewhere.

Fixed suction side leak now spa drains a few inches overnight

From how I read it, it didn't leak right before he replaced the o rings and now it is.

Fixed suction side leak now spa drains a few inches overnight

Thats a possibility yes and since it just happened after replacing the o rings that would be my first point of interest.

    Leaking pool pump

I'd need to see exactly where the water is coming from to determine if its the gasket vs a pin hole. Its not the mechanical seal though, I'm certain of that one. - - - Updated - - - - - - Updated - - - The red line represents where water can get if the mechanical seal (or the seal plate...

Running pool with air leak for a week (pump cap was not fit right)

Yeah Amail has it right. I will add to it though, if you have no leaks at the pump (underneath or at pvc discharge fitting) then you are in the clear as far as prime loss damage is concerned.

    Leaking pool pump

Yeah sometimes pinholes happen. Only real fix is replacing the pump body, or the whole pump of course. I have seen people get some extra life with a good patch job but it never lasts too long.

Catridge filters, how many years before replacing cartridge?

I disagree. I don't mean a pressure washer but something that makes a very strong concentrated stream. - - - Updated - - - I'm sure you can get by with a run of the mill nozzle but it'll take longer and require more effort to get the water deep into the pleats. - - - Updated - - - here is...

    Leaking pool pump

The housing gasket is a SP1600T, it seals around the whole perimeter of where the seal plate meets the pump body. If that is leaking it can show up anywhere really. If its the internal mechanical seal (ps201) then it will show up underneath.

Catridge filters, how many years before replacing cartridge?

Just experience. The high pressure hose nozzles take a toll on them and it tends to cause the bands to separate from the pleats.

Catridge filters, how many years before replacing cartridge?

Too many variables. But one of the worst things you can do for a cartridge filter is to clean it too often, it shortens the life.

    Understanding My Plumbing Setup

Yeah kind of weird makes me wonder if there used to be a water feature or something that the line with the Jandy valve went to. If that feeder isn't leaking I'd just leave it in there. Gives you a means of adding tabs if you ever need them.

    Leaking pool pump

No a leaking mechanical seal wont cause water to shoot up out of there. Its either the pump housing gasket leaking or a pin hole in the pump body.

    Pump dry when starting OK?

For the trap to be nearly empty suggests a low leak. Does your pump leak underneath while its running? - - - Updated - - - There are also two drain plugs on most pumps and they can also cause what you are describing.

Leak expert is as baffled as I am.

Unless you are prepared to dig up the pipes, youll want to just let your leak guy find it with all his nifty tools.

    Pump dry when starting OK?

Its not necessarily tiny but its definitely something that should be taken care.

    Leaking pool pump

Was it coming from between that joint that you see there or actually a pin hole in the housing itself?

    Hayward Colorlogic LED Light

Oh I couldn't say, prices of materials and labor rates vary.

    Pump dry when starting OK?

Not ok. It may be priming now but if one morning it doesn't it will likely result in damage to the plumbing and the seals. Unless you catch it that is.

    Intermatic Replacement - Which Model?

There isn't an awful lot that can go wrong with the mechanism itself which is why I mentioned the motor only route. If the box has no cracks then its as weather proof as any.

Thats a junction box for electrical wires, your pool probably had a light at one point. The stubbed up pipe could be many things.

    Pump leaking from top

Pulls apart, if there's not enough flex in your pipe you'll probably need to undo the other Nut too and slide the filter away

My guess is he removed the motor bolts since he said the motor now rotates.
