    CYA levels South Louisiana

All, I need some advice, and some information. It is still cool down here. Daytime highs in the mid 80s, nights in the low 70s. Last season I was adding about 60 to 90 oz of bleach for my 15,000 gal. pool each day due to dropping chlorine levels during the hot summer days. This season so far...

Working out of town til the end of the year

I am still about a month away from closing up the pool, but I am going to be working out of town. Great pay sucky hours. 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week. I will be 90 miles from home, but obviously have very little time to come home to care for the pool. If I com home 2x per week for the next month...

Dave, I truly expected the tannins to clean up much sooner. I finished filling Sunday at about noon and I think it will be Tuesday AM before I have gotten them all out. When they installed th pool I wasn't here, so I don't know if the granules cleaned it up sooner. I will ask and report back.

Currently in South Louisiana there is a run on bleach! I saw HD putting up a display of $2.99 bleach for $5.97. If I thought the state would do anything I would turn them in for price gouging!

Ok, I think I got some old bleach from Home Depot. This bottle gave me a much bigger jump! FC 5.2 PH 7.2!!!!! Dave S. Told me to aim for 10.0 FC because of the tannin load in my well water. So I am going to bump it up to that. Dave S told me to head for 10.0, so that is what I am doing. I...

I have managed to destroy the timing circuit in HAL's power supply,a new one is going to cost $100 or more. I have taken out the circuit board and replaced it with a full wave rectifier. $5 at radio shack. HAL now works, but when he gets to the edge I have to turn him of and back on to reverse...

Dave, I will go test well water now. Tannins were tested with professional water test. My drinking water looks like weak tea in a clear glass, so I know it is an issue and here in this part of south Louisiana it is a known issue as well! I have about 25% of the pool to fill when I did the CYA...
