is there a good silicone that I can use to seal about 1/2" gap between the pool and coping?

i don't have waste connection. i don't know if the filter has a vacuum mode. how do i find that out? there is a valve but nothing changes if i move it.

Re: poor suction at vacum what I'm trying to say is that I get little suction on the vacuum inlet (outlet?) where I would normally connect a vacuum. When I connect the vacuum to the skimmer inlet (outlet?) I get great suction but the filter psi goes from 10 psi to 1 psi. Is that normal?

Re: poor suction at vacum thanks for your reply. by line I mean the zodiac cleaner hose. I just replaced the diaphragm on the zodiac. What would cause the skimmer line to drop to Zero when I connect the hose to it?
