Correct way to abandon in-floor system?

had the pool re-plastered - in-floor system was fully functional but never used it, didn't do anything to keep the pool clean. I had the contractor abandon the jets in the pool. Now, how to I 'properly' abandon the water distribution system @ the pump? I assume just cut it all off and cap it.

This is a 4yr old Compupool CPSC48 SWG. The cell is about 2yrs old. Just in the last few weeks it delaminated / corroded / separated; the plates are disintegrating, the connection to one plate is gone and the cell is dead. The original cell was replaced under warranty when the...

    4X Pressure to 4X Suction?

Morning folks I’ve had the Poolvergnuegen 4x Pressure unit in my 35k gunite pool for a couple years. It does well except for not getting the fine debris/dust/dirt which flows through the bag and back into the pool, or is just not picked up. I miss my old kreepy-crawly style vacuum for only...

    Liquid Solar Blanket experience

My experience with liquid solar blanket I’ve seen ‘tropical fish’ and ‘solar pill’ liquid blankets. It is just wax in isopropyl alcohol. The alcohol is water miscible and will evaporate. The wax forms a layer on the water to reduce evaporation. Evaporation causes temperature loss in...

Clearwater LM2-24 - salt cell on the way out?

I have a Clearwater LM2-24, 4-6yrs old (came with house). The problem started this season: the 'low salt' light is on and the unit will not go above 40-60% output. Manual calls for about 3600ppm (iirc), and the pool is at 3800-4000ppm (test with strips and chemical test to verify. Water temp is...

    OCLT minor question

I plan to perform the test tonight to verify the pool is in good shape How much will the OCLT be affected by windy conditions, and any minor debris in the skimmers/vacuum bag? Should the pump be left running, or shut off? Wind is a fact of life here, and we have lots of trees etc in the...

Replace SWCG: Cell size vs. Runtime etc

Please check my reasoning! Bear with the long-ish description: :blah: My SWCG is undersized: 25k unit in a 33k pool. It’s also getting old (5yrs) so I’m researching a replacement. I’m trying to determine optimal cell size given the needs. A caveat is that the big 2.25total hp pump...

Managing high CH in my SW pool

I have high CH – incoming water around 200ppm and lots of evaporation. Last year it got to around 650  , doing my best to manage it with good pH control. Partial drain/refill last month got it under 400. Drain/refill is several hundred dollars between water, borates, acid, salt…...

    ThePoolCleaner & poolservicestech.com Review

    Re-configure my system

The current system is as below, quite complex: 2 pumps, lots of valves, jets, fountain, and floor system, salt cell. Acid dosing as well. Issues with the current system: -energy hog -when both pumps are running, floor system is very strong but jets (and Leaf Devil, not shown) are very weak...

    shot pump bushing

A couple weeks back I noticed a lack of pool pump humming - upon investigation, the timer was calling, voltage was present, but no pumping! Dosing acid... and Bleach

I have a SW pool. The SWG is undersized for the pool - at 100% output it does not make enough FC. All else is good - runtime, all other chemistry. I'm going to start supplimenting with bleach to get the FC up. I've already rigged an acid doser to maintain pH, using drip lines & fiitings...

    Re-configure pumps?

Howdy all I have a pretty complex system, see below. The main 1.5hp outlet goes to 2 places: directly to the jets, and through a seconday 0.75hp pump, then the salt cell, then the floor system. The current system flows kinda weird when both pumps are on. The jets get little flow while the floor...
