Need to put in a seal. Deck O Seal?

Not to be anal but there will be do damage to the bond beam? In renovation later, what will they do just peel off the mastic or dremel it off? The bond beam surface I notice when looking into the gap is not smooth like the coping surface. I guess I also need to put in enough mastic so that it...

Need to put in a seal. Deck O Seal?

http://www.continentalpools.com/images/Coping.gif It is not an intentional step down by design. Referencing the image I found online as an example, the step down is because the concrete deck has SUNK below the coping on one side. On the other side of my pool, the concrete deck is level with the...

Need to put in a seal. Deck O Seal?

Thanks! About to get busy. But before I start, I have a very important question. My understanding as acomplete novice is in pool construction the coping sits above a bond beam whichsits above the rim of the pool shell. Incleaning out the gap (for the side of the pool I wish to seal), I...

Need to put in a seal. Deck O Seal?

thanks pooldv. I checked out the Sikaflex on Home Depot's site. However it does NOT do well in areas subject to pool chemicals such...

Need to put in a seal. Deck O Seal?

I want to resurrectthis thread. So for a year I didn't have time to work on it. Need to put in a seal. Deck O Seal?

Would you bother if the rip out and redo is to take place in about 2 years from now? I am just worried about rain. Not worried about the appearance of the deck but worried about water seeping in and damaging the shell of the pool. Is this something to worry about?

Here are some more photos: The people who run this board should make it much more intuitive and easier to upload additional photos. I spend 15 minutes and still cant figure it out. Seems you have a limitation on total photos but one cannot remove old photos from other threads. So what good is it...

Need to put in a seal. Deck O Seal?

My pool was built in the 60's. I have owned it for about 5 years and this year have become more involved with the pool (learning how to operate and maintain it instead of just relying on hired help). It seems the seal between the deck the and the coping is long done and was never replaced. The...

Deck O Seal: Use Traditional or One Step???

I thought Sikaflex does not mix with chlorine well and does not self level well. Am I wrong? I will post pics soon. My sealing is pretty much temporary as I expect to renovate my pool area with a new deck within a year. But I want to seal things up before the winter and spring rain season coming up.

Flow Regulator Vac Serious Problems Need Help !!!!!!

My water level gets too low when the regulator opens up. Seems it opens up and gets stuck so water goes through the opening. Do I need a new one? IT feels really tight and the spring is OK. The red piece came off due to my tinkering of it when it was in the skimmer. Can easily put it back in. I...

Advice for DIY of mastic seal around pool

I don't have any photos to show yet but what about any gaps between the pool and the surrounding ground? I realize the backer rod holds up some of the seal to be put in but in my case I have a void that needs to be filled where any backer rod would go. I am thinking of using play sand? Is that a...

How much "value" should I get out of my pool cleaning person?

Just exactly what value should a pool cleaner bring? IMO they (or at least mine) is overpaid for what they do. About 10 minutes of getting a few leaves, dumping some chemicals in, checking water levels and then they take off. The prior one was worse. By far the laziest I met in any capacity...

Hi temp union reliability? Any experience with these?

Thanks to everyone who responded so far. Its very helpful. I will have to find out about the sweep. I lined things up with the regular union and it would force me to change more plumbing that I wish to. Specifically it would force me change all piping leading to my sand filter and also use a...

Hi temp union reliability? Any experience with these?

Can you define "time to time"? I'm OK with an annual replacement of a O ring provided its easy to replace. I'm not OK with every other month or even every six months. Seems like nuisance. Do you use the 90 degree elbow one? Do you know the measurements? If I go with it, it has to be the same...

Small leak in piping around pump/ How to fix???????????

Small leak in piping around pump: I have a small leak at where the PVC pipe joins my pump housing. In the photo, I marked the exact spot by leaving a toothpick there (see pic 1).
