    Cyclone Blower Pressure

Could you use a plug in with a remote on/off or would that damage the cyclone? They should make them with a remote for self-closers.

    closing cost increase

We've been doing our own closings but I was curious on the cost. When we built our pool in 2015 the cost to close was $300...now it's $1299! That includes 1 whole gallon of antifreeze. I've never seen a pool company warranty any closing issues and I guess the demand is so high they charge...

InyoPools salt cell warranty and phosphate test

I'm on day 2 of running with freshly TSP'd grids and salt cell is now working perfectly. It had to be the oil. Phosphate test came up cream color which is 0 on the test strip bottle.

    IC60 not lasting

Depends on how often your car mechanic uses your pool I guess, I have a heavy grease load in my pool. If I don't TSP the grids then DE doesn't stick, pressure goes up and apparently my salt cell won't work. I'm on day 2 of the cell working perfectly.

    IC60 not lasting

I never had a low flow light on, just low salt and inspect cell and the flow from the returns was fine.

InyoPools salt cell warranty and phosphate test

yes, single speed. It wasn't showing low flow, just low salt and inspect cell and the flow was pretty powerful thru the returns which is why I didn't suspect overly dirty grids.

    IC60 not lasting

From what I just went thru with my hayward cell flashing like Las Vegas and seeing that you have a DE filter, when was the last time you had a TSP cleaning done on the grids? My symptoms pointed to a bad cell but after the TSP & ahh-some cleaned off the oil on the grids my cell is reading...

InyoPools salt cell warranty and phosphate test

Well, the cell seems to be functioning 24 hours after the grid cleaning and filter pressure is normal. Water clarity was perfect the entire time, no chlorine loss, but pressure was higher than normal and I know there was a lot of mechanic-husband-oil in the grids. So perhaps the oil did...

InyoPools salt cell warranty and phosphate test

Hayward doesn't let you submit a claim as a consumer (at least that's what they told me). The pool store is in another city so I'm waiting to see if cleaning the DE grids in TSP/Ahh-Some fixes the salt cell problem.

DH grid cleaning ahh-some vs TSP

It is "real" TSP from the hardware store. Since a mechanic spends a lot of time in the pool I should probably look into the pool enzyme. I ended up doing the TSP soak/rinsed really good and then used ahh-some filter cleaner soak/rinse. The TSP definitely got most of the filth out and then...

I wasn't aware I could do that. I'll start down that path.

InyoPools salt cell warranty and phosphate test

InyoPools told me to bring CYA up to 80 and add non-chlorine shock  I don't have any chlorine loss so I have no idea what they're trying to accomplish. I'm ignoring that advice and asked them if they were going to warranty the cell or not, they said it had to be tested at the local...

DH grid cleaning ahh-some vs TSP

I have two sets of DE grids from my S7D75 sta-rite 3 filter and it's cleaning time for set that's been running all summer. I'm reading about TSP and about ahh-some. I have both on hand but seems like using ahh-some would be a better/easier choice as long as it removes oils. Pool is used by a...

InyoPools salt cell warranty and phosphate test

I bought a salt cell from InyoPools 2/2021 and installed 5/2021. This year it's consistently reading low and flashing. I tested my salt level and it's 3070. Sometimes the cell reads 600, sometimes 1900 and occasionally it'll read 3100. It must be generating because FC is hovering around 3-5...

motor tripping breaker when in full sun

For followup, at the sub panel and we changed out the Eaton with a Siemens which is heavier duty. We then installed a go kit and new motor. Since then we no longer have a 2 minute wait for the pump basket to fill with water (the equipment pad is uphill) it now fills immediately, nor do we have...

What device to attach to hose & push water up from skimmer to elevated equipment

I've used a drain king but I normally just open the pump basket by the motor and use a garden hose to fill the closest skimmer line while keeping the main and other skimmer valves shut.

motor tripping breaker when in full sun

"someone"....you mean the same guy that works in a hot shop all day on cars that he can't get parts for anymore and what parts he does get are junk? I normally find him in the pool after work, how do I lure him out in the heat and sun to check the motor? I'll try!! It's the right motor.

motor tripping breaker when in full sun

Hayward wasn't covered because pool guy passed away and therefore the warranty passed with him. Inyopools said the replacement is not covered under warranty. We can check the wiring when we replace the next one.

motor tripping breaker when in full sun

We're on our 3rd pool pump motor in 7 years. The motor sits in shade until the heat of the day starts and then it's in full sun until evening, it'll start just fine after it's cooled off. When I placed an umbrella over the motor it stayed running all day. We can't continue to use the umbrella...

How do I maintain the water chemistry in a covered pool?

We're lucky to have Infant Swim of America in our city and they teach kids to immediately roll over on their backs and float. This becomes second nature to even the littlest ones who may fall in. Kids don't need to know how to swim, they need to know how to float and save themselves...

How do we manually open coverstar auto cover with broken roll-up tube (drum)

coverstar parts - is my pool deck right or left?

Thank you for the response and PDF. We don't have a local tech that I know of. It's impossible to get anyone to do anything with pools in our area. Nebraska isn't really known to be a big hotspot for pools so nobody wants the territory.
