Hello. I can't find an error code this low. They all start in the 100's. Does anyone know what code #40 means? ALso, I don't see the salt reading on the panel in my house anymore. It used to dsiplay the salinity reading but no longer does. Any ideas why or how to get it back? Thanks in advance! Ron

It's on the sundeck..a few areas. I'll try sprinkling an area 1st since now the ph and chlorine are where they need to be. If that doesn't work then I'll just keep doing the sock thing.

Apparently. I have the aa coming tomorrow. Ph is down to 6.9 and chlorine is less than 1. I'm ready this time. Would you recommend I throw it in on the stain again or try the sock method?

Honestly, no and no.

I sprinkled in 8lbs of ascorbic acid. It doesn't seem to have worked. I ordered another 8lb bucket but this time I will place the aa in socks with rocks directly onto the stain several times with hopes that the direct contact will remove it this time, same as my test spot did. I'll report back...

So this morning I put some vitamin C tabs into a sock and smashed them up some. I added a rock and put it on a small stained area and when I went back tonight to look the stain was gone! So what can I do to get rid of the rest of it now??

No one else? I started with a pool company for weekly maintenance. The water is perfectly balanced. The think it is a metal stain.

We did that last year. The stain has lightened slightly but is still present solidly. I tried Jack's stain identifier but surprisingly it did not Id the stain!

Any recommendations?

Ok. But the stains? I had a pool co. Out and they said the water is now balanced. I had added conditioner.

That is the 2nd water test. I can't imaging that phosphate # is right. Last Friday it was 400.

It's a basic test kit. I don't know the name..I've tried the chlorine tab and vitamin c tab tricks. They didn't touch it. Haven't tried acid in a sock yet.

Looks like sand is in the pool, but it's nothing loose.

Does not brush off. I do have a test kit. I had the water tested at Leslie's. They said calcium hardness, iron and copper were all good.

I guess you might say that. At least with 1 eye closed. :( What should we have put it to? Next year I plan to empty the pool and have the surface power washed anyway (was going to have it done this year but we didn't) so I didn't really follow the book 100%. But my water is crystal clear!

That's what I deduced. We have the chlorine at about 15 for 3 days, then 10 for a day. Down to 6 today. We brushed and scraped as much as we could. Even use a putty knife and a flat head screw driver & still couldn't get it all off. It is WAY WAY better now. It wasn't horrible, but it just made...

Thanks for the response! Not sure what is the confusing part. The old filter housing has the inlet and outlet ports at say 6:00 & the drain is at 12:00. On the new housings I see the drain is at 3:00 now. My pumps,ets are over in the 3:00 direction so I'd put a 90* elbow to route the drain back...

We scraped it off the pool floor and there was a green smear left behind. I can try to retrieve one from the pool and do it on a piece of white paper. Thanks for the responses!

I was going to go this route also but I found a NEW board on ebay for $75 more, so I went for new vs. old & repaired. The guy was nice enough to 2 day it back to me for free as well. Ron

The board was working before the loss of power issue. And the broken pieces are gone. Plus I wouldn't know what kind of place to bring it to. Is there any way though to run the pump while waiting for the board to return provided the transformer gets to me before the board does? Or is there...
