Finally! New Mountain Pond in Pittsburgh Region

Thanks, Jason. It only feels fast here at the end. Waiting from the time we signed up until now was excruciating! :hammer: We loved the mountain pond shape given the contours and features of our yard. I'm very happy with it. We are filling it up now and, with luck should be swimming by...

Finally! New Mountain Pond in Pittsburgh Region

Mitch, congrats on great taste in pool shapes! We are also doing a waterslide but it can't be installed until the concrete decking is installed and cures (about 3 weeks). So...we figured that we wouldn't really be able to use the slide much this summer anyway and decided to wait...

Finally! New Mountain Pond in Pittsburgh Region

We finally got started last Friday, July 23rd! And should be swimming by Saturday, July 7th! My wife took the camera on a trip so I only have the latest pics. When she gets back on Sunday, I can post the "before" photos to show the yard prior to removal of trees and grass. We had to have...

    Pp09722 or Mike for short

Well my wife and I are soon to be pool newbies! Having a pool is something I have wanted to do since I was a kid. I put it off for lots of reasons but last year, after buying my new house, I decided to do it. A conversation with DW and some additional savings later we have started the process...

PB says bigger than 1 1/2 inch pipes unnecessary

When the curse words come out, you know you started a good topic! (or restarted one) Btw, if there is no main drain does the conversation change at all? I can almost predict the debate about having or not having a main drain! While bidding, I ran into builders that use them and builders that...

PB says bigger than 1 1/2 inch pipes unnecessary

Thanks, all! I am brandy new to all of this and am rushing to educate myself. I want ask the right questions and get the right set up, but I honestly don't have the time or inclination (or the knowhow) to get too involved in managing my PB's plans. With that said... I've been told that a 1...

PB says bigger than 1 1/2 inch pipes unnecessary

I love this site! It has been a big help as we plan for our new pool. One question I have had is about pipe size. I have noticed a number of posts that recommend 2 or 2 1/2 inch pipes. My PB uses 1 1/2 inch pipes. When I asked about it he sailed that the fittings are standard at 1 1/2 inches...

    Best kind of pool bottom

My PB has talked up his cement pool bottom for my IG. Others have advertised vermiculite or sand. Is one better than another or is it simply personal preference?
