    CYA stays at 0

The reagent was bad!! Now we are at 100. Darn it. We JUST had the pool filled. I really don't want to replace. Is there anything else I can do??

    CYA stays at 0

Because we were slamming, as the water was brand new.

    CYA stays at 0

They are not in the filter... we have done it this way before with no trouble. Also, we are not losing chlorine... wonder if the reagent is bad? In the test we did tonight, there was no cloudiness at all. Clear as day.

    CYA stays at 0

Hi all! We recently had to replace our pool, so we have brand new water. Crystal clear, CC is 0. FC is 22 currently. CYA was 0, so according to PoolMath we needed to add 48oz of stabilizer (crystals). Added to the skimmer, waited a few days, still 0. We just added the rest of the stabilizer...

    Reducing pH and TA

I really have no idea how it got so high. It's been high since we started testing. Have had no time to work on it yet, hoping to get to it this week.

    Reducing pH and TA

Hello! Our pH is creeping up and our TA is off the charts. Pool math says to add Buame muriatic acid pr dry acid. We have a pool store product called pH reducer - is that the same thing? That is all the store had (they don't sell muriatic acid. If it's not the same thing, how do I know how much...

    CYA dropped to below 30

Mine dropped from 80 to 50. Pool is in the full sun, but we did have to replace some water because of a leak.

    CYA dropped?

Ok. We have a slow leak. Yesterday I turned on the hose to add water and forgot about it, so I added more than I intended. Perhaps that is the culprit? If that is the case then should I still use the stabilizer?

    CYA dropped?

With the Taylor test kit - the disappearing dot - rounding up it should be 50.

    CYA dropped?

Hi all, Today when we tested the pool, the CYA was 48. It had been at 80, right where it should have been. Why would it have dropped? PoolMath says to add stabilizer, is that correct? Will that change other results? FC 7 CC 0 pH 7.8 TA 200 (I know this is high) CYA 48

    Advice for cloudy water?

Good news!!! The FC stayed the same overnight!! The CC is 0!!! Party is on!!!! Except, after two weeks of 90 degree weather...today it is rainy. Ha ha ha. Of course. On to the next project...finding the leak.

We did vacuum to waste a few times, too. Maybe we should do that again.

    Advice for cloudy water?

CYA 80. Been slamming at 31. Cartridge filter. I can see the tails side of the nickel at the bottom of the pool. We started. waaay back in May, with a green pool. Then cloudy/milky water. Looks good now. I am having a hard time believing there is still algae. Brushing/vacuuming every day...

    Advice for cloudy water?

Ugh. We have been slamming for two weeks!! Right now the FC is 23 and we were letting it come down because we were hoping to use the darn pool for the first time tomorrow... what if I let it come down for tomorrow then resume slamming after the party?

    Advice for cloudy water?

My CC seems to be somewhere between .5 and 1. Will it come down on its own as the FC comes down?
  20. L

    Advice for cloudy water?

Well, we tested with a nickel and we could tell it was tails. We ran out of the regeant again, though, so we couldn't test overnight. A refill is suppose to arrive today. But, based on all this, I think we will be ok to swim tomorrow. Thoughts?

    Advice for cloudy water?

I'm not sure how to post a pic from my phone...? Any ideas? I think we bleached the liner, so it's hard to tell. I wouldn't say it looks empty.

    Advice for cloudy water?

I really, really thought there was no algea in there. We can't see any, the white stuff is gone, but most importantly, we have been at this for two weeks. Testing, brushing and vacuuming each day. We were without the test (waiting on a refill) for a few days, but we still added based on the OTO...

    Advice for cloudy water?

I added this morning then two hours later I was below shock level. Bleach is new and 8%. I;m going to shoot for a little higher than shock level.

    Advice for cloudy water?

Re: Maintaining FC I'm having trouble keeping it at shock level; I'm guessing because it sits right in the sun. Should I be shooting for a bit higher than shock level? I'm thinking I'll turn the SWG back on to help.

    Advice for cloudy water?

Maintaining FC If we ever get our water clear and are able to return to normal FC level...how often will we be adding bleach? Seems like if the level is 7, we will drop every day because it's in the full sun? Thanks Liz
