I agree with Dave, Get a full set of numbers first. My advise for "sparkle" is to add borates to the pool. See how in the Pool School. It made a big difference in mine.

I recommend the TFP test kit. You will get more accurate results and more test.

I know you are talking about inground. But for my above ground, I secured the cover with shrink wrap. It works by keeping the wind from blowing up the cover.

I did it. I was a little nervous, but did it anyway. I was amazed at the clarity and the silkiness of the water. My wife loves it.
