How do you find a leak in the piping?

Thank you Maddie. I just read through the guide you posted and have gone through steps 1-6. I really don't think the air is coming from a leak above ground unfortunately :( I think the last paragraph is where I am since I am losing water when the pump is off: "Though underground plumbing leaks...

How do you find a leak in the piping?

Thanks Maddie, I've done all that already, thus leading me to believe that there is a leak in the suction-side piping.

How do you find a leak in the piping?

I have a situation: I have lots of bubbles coming out of a return line. I have come to the conclusion that I have a suction-side leak either in the pipes or skimmer. I am pretty confident of this because when my pump is running, I have zero water loss, but there is visible water loss after the...

Can't seem to clear up the cloud...

Thank you everyone! I have two pieces of good news: 1.) After work yesterday, I checked my pool and it was less cloudy. I could see clearly through to the bottom of the shallow end (deep end still not so much) 2.) I ordered the TF-100 and it's on its way! If the pool doesn't clear up completely...

Can't seem to clear up the cloud...

I opened my pool last Thursday, the water was blue, but slightly cloudy (I was thrilled it was in such great shape). I got the water tested and was told that I just needed to raise the alkalinity a bit and add in 4lbs of shock. I figured the shock would easily clear up the water the next day...

Investing in a safety cover: now or later?

Hi All, I'm debating getting a safety cover installed as they are less work and more cost effective than a tarp/solid winter cover. They also look a lot nicer. However, I'm wondering if it is a good idea to get one for this winter if I plan on getting a new pool installed in 3-5 years. My vinyl...

Winter Pool Cover Sunk Below Water Line

Hello, I am new to pool ownership and have a question for you all... This year, I noticed that my pool cover sunk into the pool below the water line. I made a mistake this year by not being diligent about pumping water off the cover after rain and snow, so I know I've put myself in this...

Bubbles coming out of my return line...please help!

Hi Dave, Thanks for your response. I will take a look. Just a side note, there were no bubbles whatsoever when that third line was capped. It was only when I uncapped it did the bubbles start spewing out and then coming out from the other line. Could that be an indication that the air leak is...

Bubbles coming out of my return line...please help!

Thank you for your response James. The bubbles unfortunately have not stopped and now I am also noticing some bubbles coming out of another return line. The third periodically spits out bubbles here and there, but pretty infrequently. But that first one continuously shoots out bubbles, and they...

Bubbles coming out of my return line...please help!

Hi All, I am stressed out about my return line. I had a pool service company come out to my house yesterday to open up my pool. My filter/pump has been running since around 4pm yesterday and this morning around 10am, I noticed that one of my return lines was still plugged. The guys forgot to...
