EasyTouch 8 randomly shutting off pump and all circuits

Another successful night with no problems! Thank you Jim for the sage advice and support. I really appreciate it!

EasyTouch 8 randomly shutting off pump and all circuits

Happy 4th! Just wanted to let you know that the power off issue has not happened in the last few days. I did discover that one of the circuits is powering a GFCI outlet that permanently tripped just after I reworked the SWG relay. I replaced it with a new one - maybe it was on its way out and...

EasyTouch 8 randomly shutting off pump and all circuits

Didn't you know it's bad luck to run your pool between midnight and 1am? That's the witching hour... ;). Actually, I recently had to redo my schedules and it just sort of landed there because I was in a rush and using my phone to do it. Anyway, that's fixed now so the pump runs 24/7, and so is...

EasyTouch 8 randomly shutting off pump and all circuits

Hi Jim! Still waiting to check on the pump filter relay and black wire. It's been raining here so I didn't want to pull the cover until the rain stopped - should be later today. In the mean time, here are screenshots of my schedules (only two) along with the circuit setups. For reference...

EasyTouch 8 randomly shutting off pump and all circuits

Thanks Rocket for the advice on wiring the pump for constant power. I may just do that if I can't sort out what's causing the power off event. Jim, thank you as well! I've attached a few photos of the wiring inside the EasyTouch, plus one with cover on as a reference for the breakers. It's...

EasyTouch 8 randomly shutting off pump and all circuits

Hi Jim! Boy I'm glad you swooped in on this. No circuit breakers are tripped. I just have to open up my ScreenLogic app and turn the circuits (and pump) back on individually. They all fire back up immediately without delay - and I will say that on occasion there could be no more than 20-30...

EasyTouch 8 randomly shutting off pump and all circuits

Hello! I have an interesting intermittent problem that I'm trying to solve. My original pool build was with an EasyTouch 4, and everything was operating swimmingly. Last year, we added a pool chiller and I was in need of an additional circuit, so I upgraded to an EasyTouch 8 motherboard...

Pentair Easytouch & Valve Actuator - Can a delay be added?

Brilliant, thanks! It’s getting just a touch crowded in there, so I think I’ll tap into the system power. I’m out of warranty anyway. I appreciate your sage advice. Oh, and I got the on delay relay yesterday and bench tested it. It’s going to work great to space out the opening of the two...

Pentair Easytouch & Valve Actuator - Can a delay be added?

Hi Jim! Sorry to bug you again, but would you recommend that I add a Dedicated 120V to 24VAC transformer for this circuit design to power the actuator, or is it okay to tap into the existing one in the EasyTouch? I figure I could splice into the line just after the 24V breaker before it goes...

Glacier Pool Coolers vs Heat Pump Chiller - Help me decide

One more item of interest - The manual doesn't get too specific on timing, but it does say that you need to open up the intake valve for a bit BEFORE opening the outflow valve for the Glacier https://images.inyopools.com/cloud/documents/newer-glacier-pool-chiller-manual.pdf. Opening them at the...

Glacier Pool Coolers vs Heat Pump Chiller - Help me decide

Hey thanks! I ordered the smallest one - I’m only working with around 8,500 gallons here and limited space as well.

Glacier Pool Coolers vs Heat Pump Chiller - Help me decide

Hi Neoex, I’m in Tulsa and just ordered a Glacier over the weekend. June has certainly started off with a bang here, hasn’t it? It hasn’t shipped yet, but I found two reviews (on TFP, I believe) from others in Tulsa and they give it rave reviews... cooking their pool 8-10 degrees overnight in...

Pentair Easytouch & Valve Actuator - Can a delay be added?

You are right, Jim. Rookie mistake on my part - I see know that it says IntelliTouch only. Well, I'm definitely going to use your method of putting it on an aux relay. Thanks for bringing that to my attention! I will also reach out to Tom.

Pentair Easytouch & Valve Actuator - Can a delay be added?

Thanks Jim - That's a great idea to drive the valve with a relay and aux port. I failed to mention that this chiller is a part of a slightly more robust upgrade, which includes an EasyTouch 8 circuit board (what was I thinking only getting a 4!) and a Pentair additional valve module.

Pentair Easytouch & Valve Actuator - Can a delay be added?

Hi Jim! Yes, I have an automated valve right now that controls a water feature. My plan was to run this on a schedule, with an option to turn it off/on at will. That's actually a good idea, separating the valve actuators as two features, and achieve the delay via scheduling. I hadn't thought...

Pentair Easytouch & Valve Actuator - Can a delay be added?

Hello friends... I'm biting the bullet and getting a Glacier Pool Cooler because our pool already feels like bath water here in Oklahoma. I haven't received it yet, but I'm looking at the installation manual and am in a quandary. For automation, it requires two 3-way valves and valve...

    Anyone use a Pool Tiger?

I think I might just put an actual tiger in my pool. His treading water will keep the algae molecules broken up (and generate negative ions!) and if I can put some wash mits on his paws, he can keep the walls clean and sparkly. He will also eat the swimmers, so no more adding chemicals after a...

    Anyone use a Pool Tiger?

I’ve been getting Facebook ads for Pool Tiger as of late. I’ve watched the videos and I’m intrigued, but I can’t find any reviews online except for those on the site. It’s expensive, but might be worth it if it works as advertised. Does anyone have experience with it or are familiar with the...

    EasyTouch Freeze Protection Conundrum

Thanks Matt - my homeowners doesn't cover the pool as they consider it to be above ground, which technically it is. I also appreciate the equipment pad advice. I'm going to have to rethink some things in the spring - the pad is below the waterline, and while I to have shutoffs to all the...

    EasyTouch Freeze Protection Conundrum

Well, freeze protection has been working well through December. However, Tulsa got hit with a pretty bad cold snap over New Years, 3 degrees or less overnight. Unfortunately, I was out of town. New Years Day afternoon, I returned home to find that the entire pool was iced over, with a nice...
