    Losing Water over Winter?

Hi everyone! My husband has been noticing that the pool is losing water. I believe when we closed it, it was a few inches below the skimmer, and now he says that it's at least a foot, maybe more under the skimmer, so there's something wrong. He went out looking around last night and I asked...

Thanks. Oh ok. We can do that. I'll have to get back on pool math to see how much i need to put in. It's down to 5.5 i believe. No sun today. Want to get it to 7. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I have a robot, not sure the name. Russo221 puts it in and 2 hours later it's done. Just don't know the frequency TFP recommends to do it. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Passed the OCLT test! Put the floater back in this morning. Pool is looking very clear! Some dirt on the bottom. Needs to be vacuumed. How often do you all vaccuum or do you do it only when you see dirt? I have friends all over the spectrum. Some daily, 2 times a week, or just once a week...

The OCLT test is on the agenda for tonight :) pooldv - omg, that green water, yuck! I know we need to get on finding a cover for the pool. That's the one thing I don't want to see when we open the pool next year! I had friends that had pools like that after they opened it. I definately want...

I'm trying to get my levels up to where they need to be so i can do the OCLT test to see if i have to SLAM it. I just got the kit over the weekend and did the tests on Sunday afternoon. I know if i have to SLAM, i need to get the stuff to do so, which we haven't had the chance to go out and...

To be honest I'm scared to SLAM. After last night I'm afraid I'll really mess it up. Anyone in NJ want to come show me hands on? Lol Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Oh wow! See i still wouldn't go in or let my daughter in with it that high. We both have sensitive skin and skin issues so that's a no no for us. Too much chlorine can't be good for out sensitive skin. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I didn't test CC but ph was fine. I did read up about the CC. But i did the FC twice and one time last night. I didn't feel like wasting more drops and doing it again. I will test everything tomorrow Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I sure don't! Haha. Although at 11.5, my brother in law went in but his eyes were hurting afterwards. He didn't open his eyes under the water either Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I was at 11.5 so too high by that standard too. I Just keep hearing the standard oh if it's over 7 that's too high and not safe even not knowing the cya Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Our CYA level was at 10 at best. Doing that test i filled up the cylinder and could still see the black dot. Today, after the stabilizer, i got to 50 and could no longer see it. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    Cloudy water

Oh good to know about the stabilizer:) I'm not SLAMing yet. Was just trying to get the chlorine up so i can do the OCLT to see if I need to SLAM, but we put in too much chlorine, now its too high to swim in so we have to wait until it goes down to even swim in it. Sent from my SM-N920V using...

    Cloudy water

LOL, Okay, I got it now...thank you for clarifying! So you're saying, for my specific pool, with the CYA being at 50, that I should aim to keep my pool around 6 then, to prevent algae from forming. The CYA is at 50 now, but I'm sure it's just b/c I just added stabilizer. I'm guessing I need...

Wow. That is a lot ! I thought that no matter what that over 7 in FC is not safe to swim in. I'm not getting max though. I thought that was SLAM level? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

To be honest it's all over whelming st first bc I'm a complete newbie to taking care of a pool. I never had one so i never learned, until now. Its a lot at first and I'm trying to learn everything Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I would think 7.5 max for my results. Oh i know slam is a constant thing. Ours would be 20 and having it constantly there at that level. I just joked that i almost got us to that 20 which is slaming lol:) Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    Cloudy water

Oh I think I know where I got worried, that it could take the filter up a week to clear it all out. But quick question to slam it, which looks like shocking the pool a whole lot which I almost did last night haha. Went from 1 to 2 ppm to 13, just needed to get it to 20 lmao. We can see the...

    Cloudy water

Oh I know that about the test strips :) But we do have them from when we got the pool....may as well use them to show how off they are :) So you're saying that 11.5 FC is okay? I thought above 7 is not safe? the CYA got up there from the stabilizer last night, then we added too much liquid...

    Cloudy water

I'm in Central NJ As for the test strip, my husband, Russo221 doesn't have time before work to do the whole test, and I took over the test kit and have it all organized so i said don't touch this. It's mine :) So he used the test strips just real quick. we have the TF-100. I just did my CYA...

    Cloudy water

Ugh,I suck! so within 2 hours, the stabilizer dissolved BUT we added TOO much liquid chlorine! Ugh, I'm such an idiot! 2am I was so worried so out I went to test it. We did the color test where you add the 5 drops of the yellow and 5 of the red and then the chlorine test. Got 13 last night...

Well, we did 4 lbs of the cYA. Within 2 hours, it was done. We put it in around 1030 and he just checked. My knee high was floating in the skimmer, empty. He said the pool is cloudy too, moreso then it's been. Hopefully this gets the cya level up! Putv done liquid chlorine today too so...
