    Interesting plumbing issue / problem

spa has 2" send and return. at the spa, the return is looped to 8 wall jets. Not sure of the type of jets, but they are very standard. I know that doesn't help, but thats all i know. The eyeball fittings have about a half inch opening. The check valve appears to be all the way open when in spa...

    Interesting plumbing issue / problem

The valve for the spa has an actuator on it. It has 2 positions, 75/25 or 100% spa. I can use the switch to adjust it anywhere in between, but not all the way to 100% pool. Pump speed max (3450rpm) With valve at 75/25 position, 23psi at filter with valve at 100% spa, 30psi at filter Pump...

    Interesting plumbing issue / problem

Wall returns with eyeballs. Salt cell was not yet installed when problem started. Booster pump not running Check valve is pentair. Not sure about model number. 2" Return valve was in same position. Although I moved it to 50/50 and it made no difference.

    Interesting plumbing issue / problem

ok, here is the status.... With the filter bypassed, it takes 1750rpm to see a tiny bit of circulation to the spa. With the filter in line, it takes 2050rpm to see a tiny bit of circulation in the spa. Originally, with the filter inline, I could get decent circulation in the spa at 1500rpm.

    Interesting plumbing issue / problem

Yes....however, I am sure that plaster dust had accumulated in the filter. So I backwashed to make absolutely sure that the filter was allowing maximum flow. I am going to go out right now and put the multiport valve in bypass to see if it flows properly with no filter in-line......will post...

    Interesting plumbing issue / problem

So......Brand new pool (see spec's in signature).....When first filled with water, and in regular pool circulation mode, (return valve set at 75%pool and 25%spa) I could set the intelliflo to 1500rpm and water would push through both the pool, and the spa. The spa has an overflow that goes down...

    Spa Air Problem.....

In the picture i posted previously, if you look closely, the main drain, and the water return to jets are both at the rear of the spa. It is hard to see that there are 2 lines there, but they are right on top of each other. Off to the side of the spa is the air line. By pieving together many...

    Spa Air Problem.....

I think the fact that having only the spa in the picture has confused things.... Here is a picture of the whole thing. [attachment=0:2teow6yg]1.jpg[/attachment:2teow6yg] I dont have a clear enough picture, but there is (1) 2" line from blower to spa. (1) 2" line from output of...

    Spa Air Problem.....

I have asked my builder what type of jets they are. Hopefully I will have more info soon. Is it possible that he didn't put "jets" in at all. When we turn the blower on, we just get giant blobs of air coming out. There is no "stream" of aerated water like you would expect...

    Spa Air Problem.....

The pressure is about 28psi with motor at full speed in spa mode. Should i be able to see or touch the internal part of the spa jet? I took the eyeball fitting off of one of them and stuck my finger as far in as I could and there is nothing in there??? I know that it is not a direct comparison...

    Spa Air Problem.....

New pool and spa. Intelliflo 3HP pump. When in spa mode and intelliflo on highest RPM, the 8 jets in the spa are not very strong. The heater has a bypass built into it, so I don't think that is the obstruction. Also, in a pool we previously owned, we always had air coming from the spa jets...

Pool and BBQ Island design.....need comments and suggestions

The windows are amazingly resistant to heat gain and without being tinted dark. This house has exceeded our expectations for efficiency even with the middle of the road AC system. We went from a smaller home with $500/month electric bills to a 1200 sq/ft larger home with more windows....now our...

Pool and BBQ Island design.....need comments and suggestions

Our pool builder recommended them. Not sure of the brand, but they are made of a high quality stainless steel that wont corrode in a properly balanced salt pool. The seat is a THICK HEAVY plastic. Not flimsy or cheap at all. They are removable from a sleeve in the pool floor. If we did the...

Pool and BBQ Island design.....need comments and suggestions

We are hyper aware of the views from the windows. Just past the pool is a salt water canal that leads out to galveston bay. We moved here specifically for the views to the water. Our pool designer was very good about making sure all the elevations enhanced the views instead of blocking them...

Pool and BBQ Island design.....need comments and suggestions

Good points. The area that you suggest a railing has already been addressed. The countertop right there is going to stop instead of making the turn away from the pool. A planter will take its place to serve as a barrier for the danger zone. Also, the lower left patio is being completely...

Pool and BBQ Island design.....need comments and suggestions

Here is a drawing and picture of a pool we are building. The pool builder is doing the BBQ Island as well, but it is up to us to decide on the layout. We will have a Luxor 42" grill, Luxor dual side burner, Danby fridge, Fire magic Ice maker, One double door 42" cabinet front, and a pull out...
