    Re-occurring algae spots, maybe?????

Before I did, but just SLAMMED tonight. On the last tests, I thought I did, but now looking back and thinking about it. The SWG could have been running for an hour or 2 in the morning before I retested, thus creating enough chlorine to cover for the loss of FC. I just know for 2 of the weeks...

    Re-occurring algae spots, maybe?????

Hmm, I remember reading that but have never gone that high. Maybe that's my problem. I took her up to 32 ppm tonight so after SLAM is complete, I need to go up to 46. 2-3 weeks ago my CYA was lower, only 60 so I did bring her up to ~23ppm, SLAMMED, no CC, cleared up then let it float back...

    Re-occurring algae spots, maybe?????

No, it's Jandy Pro Series, does have a 'Low Salt' readout for < 2500 ppm. Test strips this morning are all over from 2500 - 3500. I bought your recommended test but I'm confident it has salt b/c it's making Chlorine. At 8 this morning. Slammed 2 weeks ago, yeah we scrubbed everything with...

    Re-occurring algae spots, maybe?????

This year we put in a SWG (professionally installed) and 2 weeks ago we had what we thought were algae spots, mustard, and cloudiness. I SLAMMED the pool and everything cleaned up and went away. Before and After slamming we have brushed, scrubbed, and chlorox'd the liner, steps, ladder, rails...

Just cut solar cover to fit!

okay, I just ordered an 18x36 for my pool. I really don't want a reel, just more stuff in the way. Cover will be on 4-5 days out of the week. Should I just cut my cover in 1/2's or 1/3rds, or leave it be if I have 2 people to take off? Georgia weather. Thanks, Ryan

    HELP! Pool won't hold chlorine!

Why don't you start with draining a quarter. I fought all last season with CYA and mine wasn't that high. That's your problem.

    Need Help to balance

yep 1998-2003 - - - Updated - - - yeah, I didn't do it last year, but we used a new cover, new liner, new water so I wanted to cover all the basics.

New pool owner really high CYA and CH what should I do

CYA is the devil, mine was high last year. I'd just drain some and refill, much easier than fighting it with bleach.

    Need Help to balance

New liner, new water. Just opened the pool. Using TFTestKits. This site was great last year and we had an awesome year using the site's recommendations. We had new brick coping and a new liner put in so drained the pool. I don't want my CYA getting high like last year. Figured I'd use...

    Shock or Mustard Algae Shock?

Yep, I did everything but the last 24 hour period, so maybe that was my issue. Thanks

    Shock or Mustard Algae Shock?

Yeah, SLAM, but the calculator does say 'Shock'. I slammed it last week, started again last night. Need to know the difference and when to use which one between TFP calculator 'shock' level and mustard algae 'shock' level when slamming. TF-100 test kit FC 27 CC. 0 pH. 7.5 before slamming...

    Shock or Mustard Algae Shock?

Pool has been great all summer using the TFP process. Last week we started getting brown/yellowish algae so we shocked for 3 days and passed the OCLT. Yesterday, my sister saw a yellow spot and the pool was a little cloudy so we went ahead and shocked again thinking the algae had come back...

New to pools not sure if the pool store is trying to sell me every chemical they have

Be careful of the Leslie's pool conditioner. People on here will want you to have a little CYA, but not too much, and that's exactly what pool conditioner is and is the hardest compound to remedy. So, just be careful with the pool conditioner and CYA

    Numerous items to purchase

I'm an Amazon prime member but INYO pools has awesome customer support so I try to use them as much as possible. Helped me buy a pump, motor, slide, automatic cleaner this year. Alot of the stuff on your list though is readily available for comparable prices locally. I wouldn't think in...

    Hello!

Yeah, Leslie's told me to buy Conditioner as well. You don't want it. It's CYA, so quit putting it in your pool until you get your reading. I'm not going back to Leslie's unless it's something no one else carries. Get your test kit, the guys on this site are great.

    Pool Opened, now what?

FYI, I did this the other night, and must have stuck my arm in an 'ant float', b/c I got bit up about 20 times on my shoulder, back, and neck by fire ants. Not fun, lol.

Guide my wife's anger (at pool store)

I was in the same boat this year before I found this site. My local pool company won't take back any chemical regardless of if it's opened or not. I'd just forget it, and move on. These guys on here are great. They got my pool situated pretty quickly. As far as CYA, you can just backwash...

    Pool Opened, now what?

Sister said the numbers today where: FC 10 CC .5 ph 7.2+ CH 4 Once I get back down to 7, what's generally the amount/frequency to add for maintenance and to keep it around 7?

    Pool Opened, now what?

Yeah, too busy to post over the weekend. Chlorine has stayed high 3-4 nights. Did get the slide put in as well :)

    Pool Opened, now what?

I thought FC at 24 was only for Shock/Slamming? I think I'm done Slamming, I haven't Slammed since Saturday and the FC is staying above 12, not dropping at all. Shouldn't it be around 7 normally with my CYA level? Also we're getting white bubbles on the surface when swimming which I though...
