Hmm. Ok. I assumed the CYA level was raised due to adding more bleach. Since I haven't added anything else so it *has* to be operator error/getting acclimated to the test. Thank you for that bit of education. Having said that, I did follow these instructions a few moments ago to test again...

Earlier this morning when my FC was at 7, my CYA at that time was 80. Then, I added 3 gal of bleach thus causing the CYA to raise so significantly. I will test it again.

Hi, again! Trying to SLAM the pool and added the amount of bleach according to the Pool Math page but my CYA is really high at 100! Should I lower the pool level?

Thanks for you reply. I'll bookmark the SLAM page. I may also go ahead and make a run to Walmart for bleach. I'm not sure if they carry muriatic acid. That might be a trip to Lowes. I'm anxious to get started!
