I found this great rubber strap wrench that got the impeller off. I did not see anything wrong inside the pump so I cleaned everything real well and lubed the moving parts and put it all back together again. I also took the pipes apart and put some more teflon tape on the threads to stop air...

It seems to me, as I put more thought into it, that the most economical way to keep my pool clean would be to not use the sweep at all. If the sweep requires 2 hours a day to operate and it does not move half of the time I have to vacuum the pool anyway. I would be better off just circulating...

My CH should drop 50 ppm to 350. I could replace 13% of the water. Is there another way to lower the CH? Will the continued use of bleach lower that number over time?
