Lowering TA, Just making sure I'm doing it correctly.

ok great thanks for the help... Just tested again and ph is at about 7.2, I'll just keep re-calculating and watching it. Seems as though you should add more MA as soon as PH rises back correct? No reason to wait 8 hours in between doses?

    The Kleen Machine

I got mine this summer when they were $100 off. I've never had a pool cleaner before, but I'm very happy with it! Being that i manually vacuumed the pool every time, i never really saw what was being collected, so i cant really compare that aspect. This robot picks up a lot of sand, leafs, and...

    solar cover - major PIA?

Also have a lazy L type pool and i too agree that it's a PITA to mode the cover...but i've got it down pretty well so it;s not all that bad. I fold my L onto the long side then reel it up. I'm able to do it alone now, the hardest part is getting the fold. I too have many trees around my pool so...

    Solar panel questions

ok, so how should my system be changed to remove the water from the panels if the system is not being used? It's laying flat on my roof, and I'm unable to puncture my flat roof to mount any type of rack. I cant be the only one with the problem...there are many more flat roofed homes in warmer...

    Solar panel questions

well yes obviously, So you tell me that all solar heaters must have water being circulated in them in order to keep them from breaking? So if someones pool is hotter than what they would like they still must run the heater to prevent it from breaking? Doubtful, no one would use them then...It's...

    Solar panel questions

That does not make any sense...Isn't the water going to be heated to the same temp of the plastic? If the plastic is 100 degrees, the water cant be 120 degrees, it's not possible. Whether there is water in the panel or not it's still going to be heated to as hot as the temp of the sun allows...

Any effective cheap way to keep away mosquitos?

How about building, or buying, a bat house and putting it somewhere near the pool? If you don't mind bats, they will eat up a lot of misquotes pretty quick. During the summer I've got a few that love to come out when I'm vacuuming the pool at night when the light attracts the bugs. They are...

Solar Heater on a Flat Roof?

Ok i've purchased the panels for the heater... I've changed my mind on a rack, simply because of anchoring issues to the flat roof. I'll give this a try first and then alter next season if needed.

    Sungrabber panels 2 years later...

hmm interesting to hear views.... I was going to get some of these and build a PVC rack to sit on my flat roof, maybe it's best to just set them on the roof and forget the rack? they wouldn't drain but i'd be taking then down to store in the winter regardless. Anyone else have any opinions to...

Solar Heater on a Flat Roof?

Ok so i thought about a rack, PVC will probably be the best option because it will be light, easy to disassemble for storage, and pretty cheap. Here are my rack plan ideas posted below: Top View: Side View: If I use tee's as feet it will give me a place to run a rope through the feet and...

Solar Heater on a Flat Roof?

i've got about 4000sqft of open roof space, don't need that many panels! I'm only trying to achieve mid 80 temps, not hot tub temps! The melting point for the sun grabber is 312 degrees.

Solar Heater on a Flat Roof?

dwichman, Thanks for the help. According to the calculator i need about 320 sqft of solar or about 4- 4x20 panels! That seem like a lot of panels! I've got roughly 520 sqft surface area. I'll have to do some thinking about mounting the panels still... Will I be able to simply roll these back...

Solar Heater on a Flat Roof?

Solar Heater on a Flat Roof?

so are those type panels worthy of their price or should i be looking form something else? Still not sure what to do about the anchoring issues....I could build a flat rack that could site on the roof, although wind would also get under that also, so that does not solve much.

Tile waterline repair....how to and what to use???

Hello everyone! Before I close the pool for winter i need to fix some waterline tiles that have came off. I purchased the house and the tiles were already fallen off. I've got matching tiles to replace so i just need to know how to do it. The backing seems to be ok just rough. So my questions...

Concrete Pool - Sealing the tile line to the decking???

ok....Most of the areas are fine but i do have one that i could probably stick my pinky in so it may be a 1/4" or so...I'm sure i could clean the dirt out and just fill it with some silicone. It really dosen't need to be waterproof as it's not under water...just an occasional splash or wave...

Concrete Pool - Sealing the tile line to the decking???

Hey everyone, I've got an issue with the top of my tile line having a crack that i can see under the slab for the decking.
