That does not make any sense...Isn't the water going to be heated to the same temp of the plastic? If the plastic is 100 degrees, the water cant be 120 degrees, it's not possible. Whether there is water in the panel or not it's still going to be heated to as hot as the temp of the sun allows...

Ok i've purchased the panels for the heater... I've changed my mind on a rack, simply because of anchoring issues to the flat roof. I'll give this a try first and then alter next season if needed.

hmm interesting to hear views.... I was going to get some of these and build a PVC rack to sit on my flat roof, maybe it's best to just set them on the roof and forget the rack? they wouldn't drain but i'd be taking then down to store in the winter regardless. Anyone else have any opinions to...

i've got about 4000sqft of open roof space, don't need that many panels! I'm only trying to achieve mid 80 temps, not hot tub temps! The melting point for the sun grabber is 312 degrees.

dwichman, Thanks for the help. According to the calculator i need about 320 sqft of solar or about 4- 4x20 panels! That seem like a lot of panels! I've got roughly 520 sqft surface area. I'll have to do some thinking about mounting the panels still... Will I be able to simply roll these back...

well, hmm... how can i tell for sure? If it's not enough panels then it just wont heat fully correct?

so are those type panels worthy of their price or should i be looking form something else? Still not sure what to do about the anchoring issues....I could build a flat rack that could site on the roof, although wind would also get under that also, so that does not solve much.

interesting for sure...within the last month I've woke up in the morning and found a mouse and a mole in the pool floating around. As long as you get it out then that should be fine.
