    IC 40 Flow light delay

Mine did the same thing....I pulled the flow tab out a bit and it fixed it....but I have my swg wired to switch off whenever the pump is off so the flow switch is not important to me anymore....

    Solar Controller plumbing question

A lot of solar controller plumbing diagrams I have seen only use 1 automated 3 way valve that opens when the solar controller senses heat up in the panels and then shuts it off when the panels either cool down or optimal temp is reached for the pool...The problem I see is this.... When the...

    Re-plumbing - sizes?

I would go with 2" PVC. With all the twists and turns of pad plumbing, the larger diameter will allow you to move more water especially on the suction side where you can combine the 1.5" pipes to a 2" pipe right to your pump....

Replacing my old Pentair single speed with a Hayward SP2302VSP - question about timer

    1. No compatibility issues as previously mentioned unless you are going to automate the system with a controller, but using the same manufacturer and the same pump type makes the install A LOT easier since you can just drop a new one in vs having to redo the plumbing to the pump. 2. I would...

    Pump Replacement Recommendation Please

So does your solar valve have 3 positions then? Does it know when the pump is off vs when the pump is on but solar is off?

    Retrofit bonding project

I have a pool that is over 40yrs old and doesn't have any kind of bonding grid. I am entertaining the idea of redoing the concrete decking to get all the settling cracks as well as the bird feet that have been in the concrete for 40 yrs now :) . I am going to take the project on when I redo the...

    Pump Problem

What is your filter PSI? Are there any air bubbles in the glass of your pump basket? Also, when you say the builder replaced the pump...did he replace the whole pump or just the pump motor?

    Pump Replacement Recommendation Please

I'm with Bama Rambler on the 1hp 2sp pump... I would go with a Pentair SuperFlo 230v 2sp 1hp pump for your application, model 340042 (unless you want to buy my 1.5hp SuperFlo VS for $325 which needs bearings :) ) .... couple of thoughts.... -You are wired for 230v but 30 amps is probably...

Need operating advice - new VS pump

I thought that was true up until a certain point...like around 40 psi... I figured at that high of a psi, something was going on with the pool. Had no idea that some pools have normally operating psi's that are that high...

Need operating advice - new VS pump

Why is your pressure so high? Does solar increase it that much? My pressure at 1750 is around 2 psi and at 3650 it goes up to 10 psi.... I would think that if your pressure was between 8-10 at 1950 that at full power, your filter pressure would be in the 30's min...

Need operating advice - new VS pump

Without the check valve, I believe air would leak in through the valve at the top of the solar for sure. So that would lead me to agree as well that the check valve has to be letting air in (something that it shouldn't be doing)... If its a Jandy valve, I believe you can just buy the flapper...

Need operating advice - new VS pump

Don't solar panel systems have air valves at the top of them to allow the water to drain back down when off? Wouldn't that valve also allow air in on the pressure side which would also cause the filter to drain out as well?

Robotic cleaner, no GFCI? What happens?

Go to Home Depot and spend $8.48 and get yourself one of these.... Commercial Electric Tools GFCI Outlet Tester - Green-MS102H - The Home Depot Then plug into the receptacle that your booster pump was plugged into and press the red button...If the circuit shuts off, then it is GFCI protected...

PVC pipes keep separating, what is causing this?

I missed two joints on my pad pumping I redid last month....One was kind to me and just had a small leak and when I looked it, I realized that the joint wasn't even glued. The other one (which was actually the first out of the two), separated with a nice 60 gpm all over my pump room for about...

What is the name of the shape of my pool? Want to fill out my sig correctly

keyhole is probably as close as I am going to get to describing the basic shape...although the images of the keyhole pools seem to show the circular part much larger....uhh, like a keyhole lol....but at least the basic principle gets conveyed.... - - - Updated - - - it's closer to a keyhole...

    Ideas for new pump?

If your looking at getting a Pentair Superflo VS, like was suggested up above, I have one that I can sell you for $325. It's less then a year old but it just started to get noisy which usually means the bearings are going out. Bearings are fairly inexpensive to fix though. I would include a...

What is the name of the shape of my pool? Want to fill out my sig correctly

I would still love to know what to call it...People ask me what shape the pool is (pool stores, etc etc) and I say 'uhhh, its like oval on one side and square on the other, kinda?' :)

What is the name of the shape of my pool? Want to fill out my sig correctly

    New pump feels hot

That is correct...as a common rule of thumb, if you can hold your hand on the pump for 8 seconds then it is fine. As a previous poster stated in another thread, 'your pump is supposed to be hot, but not hot enough that you can cook eggs on it'....

Pool equipment main wiring repair- solid or stranded

That's a pointless code if you ask me. Why would it be an issue if a junction box was used between your pump and your panel? And how the heck would you use a timer if you had to wire straight from your panel to the pump??? I have my pad breaker running though a junction box and it powers the...

Pool equipment main wiring repair- solid or stranded

4-6" is dangerous....the next person that inherits that house is going to dig or chop at some root and and punch right through that stuff...here, you only have to go 12" if its in conduit and 24" if its direct burial wire... I would go at least 12" with your burial...btw, I'm not a code beater...

Help! Need to redirect plumbing out of basement and reroute to outside

What about instead of trying to do all the work of moving the pipes out, just build a pan underneath your plumbing with some kind of condensate pump or some type of pump that will just pump the water out if you spring a leak? You could even hook it into your waste line since it is already set up...

    Continued GFCI Troubles

I don't believe its any of the pumps, if all 4 pumps have run with no issue on the other 3 breakers...so I think you have eliminated the pumps as one of the potential causes....now I would look at the breaker itself, the breaker spot, and the wiring to the breaker..... Something that has not...
