Once I find the drain plugs, what do I need to look for with them?

Opened to a pond, still cloudy and other problems...

There are some bubbles coming out of the return jet but not anymore than there was last year. The pump basket isn't churning but there are lots of little bubbles but "a" bubble in the top as you mentioned. I replaced the o ring. Where are the drain plugs? There is one right near the basket on...

Opened to a pond, still cloudy and other problems...

My winter cover had a hole in it and we opened the pool 2 weeks ago to a pond with lots of frogs and green water. After all of the organic material was vacuumed and scooped out, I brought the pool water level up to where it is supposed to be and added the chemicals needed. I shocked it 3 times...

How to price a used pool

I am considering giving up on the above ground pool fiasco. I want to sell it (without the liner). What would be a good starting point to ask for it? Here are the specs: 24' above ground pool (no liner). Will include deck ladder (2 years old), Diver Dave vacuum (4 years old), Hayward...

    Holes......again!

If I was going to pour a concrete slab, I might as well install an inground pool. Bugs have always been plentiful here in the woods of WV, but I never heard of anyone having a problem with them under pool liners and chewing holes. Any other ideas on how to keep them out from under the liner?

    Holes......again!

Well, looks like I am revisiting this topic again this year. We are on our 4th liner in 5 years (this one was put in new at closing last year). I have been battling pin-holes all season long and just got through patching about 6 today. We have noticed alot of bugs such as ants, centipedes and...

constantly fighting holes in new liner

Well, looks like I am bringing this thread back to life. We have had the pool open (with a new liner) and everything has been fine up until this evening. We noticed that our problem area is having issues again. We noticed a stream of water running down the hill and the water level had dropped...

    Intex SWG reset switch?

It is plugged into a multiplug that is plugged into the gfci where the pump is running with no problems. I reset that gfci just to make sure. is there supposed to be a reset on the SWG itself?

    Intex SWG reset switch?

This is the 2nd full season opening for our Intex SWG. It worked fine until now. I noticed there was no chlorine in the pool, so I immediately checked the machine and it was not even on! I tried multiple outlets and it still wont work. Is there a reset switch on this thing at all?

    lots of bugs at night!

I usually enjoy night swimming now that we have purchased a 35 Watt Nitelighter, however, it seems to draw the bugs, mostly mosquitoes. We have a bug zapper that is placed away from the pool area, however, we still seem to get bit, making it less desirable to swim at night. Is there any...

idea for Tiki Torches wick cap

I have about 10 Tiki Torches that I use around my deck and pool, however, the cap that comes with the torch is pretty silly. Either it gets lost or it breaks and then since the torch cannot be covered, when it rains, it dilutes the bottle of oil as well as ruins the wick and it cannot be lit...

    gasket interfering with skimmer door

I just realized that my skimmer gasket is squeezed out and it prevents the skimmer door from opening and closing the way it should. Would it be ok to take a knife and cut the gasket that is causing the problem?

constantly fighting holes in new liner

Ok, we are getting ready to replace the liner with some Happy Bottom. We will be filling the pool up so we can turn around and close it for winter. We will be filling it up just under the return jet and skimmer. To close, will I still need CYA and Chlorine? Thanks.

constantly fighting holes in new liner

I plan on using Happy Bottom this time around, not sure if bugs would be a problem, but Diaznon might be a precaution I should use.

constantly fighting holes in new liner

I did notice alot of centipedes when we replaced the liner in April, not sure if that was a problem or even how to get rid of them since they are under the liner. I did drop $200 this week to buy a new 25ga liner. It will be installed this week, hopefully. There goes another...

constantly fighting holes in new liner

In the Swim will help with the warranty of the liner. They want pics, but did specify clearly that if the problem is not in the seam, nothing is covered and is considered to be owner fault. The holes that I can see are not on the seam. Liners are supposed to last 7 months on average, my 2...

constantly fighting holes in new liner

Well, I had a professional installer come out to "re-evaluate" the situation. He found several more holes in our 3 month old $200 liner. He suggests pulling the liner and replacing it. He suggests going with a beaded liner as opposed to a overlap liner. I don't know how much it will be in...
