Was it Brown Algae? Solved with 1 gal Anti Rust

My pool has been sparkling for 5 yrs but over the last year all white plastic turns dark brown, walls get coated also but water stays very clear. A few times I had 2 guys come and they spend all day scrubbing entire pool by hand, it looks great when they leave and it’s turning brown again in...

    Am I being to fussy?

That is a poor job by an inexperienced stone mason or tile setter. It will get worse over time as ground settles under them. If u havent paid them yet......dont until it meets your acceptance

    Uneven rebar bench

I would be more worried about all the sharp and sizeable stone they have backfilled your PVC with. I just had an expensive repair from my builder backfillng with large stone on my return line. The proper way is a foot of compacted sand for bedding and a foot of sand on top to protect it.

Cloud blows back into pool after Backwash and Rinse

This has been going on for a while now. After Backwash and Rinse, when I put Multiport back on Filter and put pool back in normal service, it sends a cloud of dust and debris back into the pool through the returns. I let it Backwash until the sight glass is crystal clear, I shut off the pump and...

Alas........we finally found the source today when we broke out 4 more patio tiles above one of the 3 returns. It leaks out pretty good by gravity and when you turn on the pump, it sprays out. Not going to be an easy repair ro get to. stay tuned.

What is the correct caulking / sealer to use where it will be underwater. the wall flanges that go from end of PVC to face of tile........builder did poor job installing them, most have space between back of flange and face of tile. I pumped it down below returns, vac port and lights........water never moved. Thats good, not leaking thru structur or in main sump. Today, I want to seal around all wall flanges and where lighting conduit comes thru the tile, let it set up, then fill to above lights and see if water holds...

I will go check pool school now. I let it go down by itself and kept track with a piece of blue painting tape. it dropped 4 inches in 24 hrs. Yesterday I put a 1.5” expandable test plug in sump pipe, left it 24 hrs, pool still went down 3/4 inch, hopefully that rules out my worst night mare...

Re: Not Happy with our REALLY tall concrete deck. Thoughts? The existing elevation dictated the slab.......what else could they do? Curious when testing FC

Exactly what I was going to say. I use 10 Ml and use 2 scoops but I am careful not to dip the dipper below the spoon part of it and get 2 equal level scoops. More important to do it the same way each time.

    Chemistry advice

A sock seems to be the preferred method here but I prefer to put it in a 5 gal bucket and stir it........CYA does NOT readily dissolve in water, so stir it, then dump off the milky white water, then fill the bucket again. I would only put 1-2 pounds in a bucket at a time. I have dissolved 3...
