I am having this same issue. Did you find/replace the internal switch and if so, where did you purchase the part?

Im not sure how old it is. I bought the house a month ago. It was working fine and started acting up a couple of weeks ago.

I have a Pentair Superflo dual speed pump. The pump runs fine in high speed. It runs fine in low speed. It will start in high speed. When I try to start it in low speed, it just hums. I have replaced the capacitor on the top of the pump with a new one and I'm still having the same problem...
