First real test - new k2005 test kit

Tested my pool again last night 24 hours after dropping my Ph from 7.8 to 7.0 and aerating. I did not have a chance to test what the PH actually bottomed out at. fc-5 cc-0 ph-7.4 Ta-225 Ch-550 CYA-45 salt-2150 Added salt last night to bring me up to 3000ppm and plan on bringing my cya to 70...

First real test - new k2005 test kit

I'm hoping that my pool's thirst for Acid and consistent ph Drops will bring my TA (down sooner than later) to the "sweet spot" so i'm not always having to chase a fast rising PH all the time. Knowing my luck it will finally happen about the the time I need to drain for the year. Good Point...

First real test - new k2005 test kit

I knew what I was and wasn't getting with the k-2005. I went back and forth for over a week trying to decide for a kit. Ultimately I decided for $30 rather than $65 and my short window of time that I will have my pool up that the k-2005 kit would work for me. It's not the Cadillac but it's a...

    Not too shabby first readings

Sorry the CC was a Typo, suppose to be less than <1. My CH tests the same from my Tap water. I was concerned with this at first, but doing some research there are a lot of people that have worse numbers than I do. Hopefully The last 2 days of rain will bring that down a Bit. It seems that in...

The part that Im unsure about is, Will my PH only drop while the CYA is dissolving and it will come back up again on it's own, OR will I need to manually counter act this? I had to wait a...

First time pool owner with 6k gal AG pool with SWG

Jeff - that almost exactly the same setup I have. What model Krystal clear SWG do you have? Mine is recommending 3-4 hours of run time. Although they only want 3 ppm chlorine. In pool school it recommends 5-8 with cya at 70. What chlorine and CYA are you running ?

First time pool owner -swg question

This is a little off topic but I have read some places, for a new pool start up you need to do a shock treatment and other places including my SWG manual to just boost the SWG for a unspecified amount of time. I have a 6000 gal pool a 1500 GPH pump and a SWG capable of 15000 gal pool and can...

I'm new to the pool world and have done some research and think I have a pretty good handle on the chemistry side of things. One question I do have, if my SWG is set to run x- amount of hours a day per the pool size. Do I need to be concerned about turning it down on weeks or longer period of...
