White sand-like residue in my robot bag

I discarded the possibility of being precipitated Calcium, as it won't dissolve in an acidic medium. I have 2 theories, one being the white cement of my plaster (not very likely) and 2 fine dust blown over from a nearby highway construction..My CH is 650 and PH ranges in the 7.4-7.8 with some...

White sand-like residue in my robot bag

I have noticed recently a white, sand-like residue in the cleaner's bag. I let it dry and it is a fine dust resembling the white cement used in my plaster mix (SunStone). My numbers seem reasonably balanced (FC=6.0, TA=70, PH=7.4, CYA=70, Ca= 600 (it has always been this high), salt=3000...

Sta Rite Heater Troubleshooting - part recommendation please

Hi CanadaDave: I posted a similar situation with my heater. My code is the HLS led light, which calls for replacing the HLS or the AGS. I will visually inspect both switches to see if cleaning does the trick (as it does not seem too complicated). Will keep you posted, but I am planning to do...

E-therm 400 "service heater" light on

Ok..I was able to see the HLS code in the panel...according to the troubleshooting diagram, it is either insufficient water flow, the high limit switch or the automatic gas shutoff. It says to "verify proper operation of internal bypass Valve, and Thermal Governor and check for Heat Exchanger...

Thanks...the heater seems to warm the water (i had at 95, then increased to 98)...it just starts, works for a minute or so, stops (light on), light clears and starts again..I will check for corrosion and see if there is a code when the "service heater" light comes on..thanks for your reply

E-therm 400 "service heater" light on

Every Sunday, I run all my non-essential pumps and the heater (spa only) for about 30 minutes, just to make sure they work properly and as a means to avoid critters nesting where they don't need to. Eventhough the heater li up and warmed the spa to the temperature set, i did note the "service...

Do I need to add algaecide or not?

I have owned my pool for 2.5 years now without any major problems...frequent brushing, addition of MA are basically my most demanding chores. Pentair ic40 acting UP

In my experience, as temperature goes up, so does readings for salt. Back in Jan/Feb, my IC-40 was reading 2300 PPM's, I did not add salt knowing that it would jump right up as it go warmer. Today (Outside temp 92ºF) my salt reading is 3750 PPM's. If you added salt, it is possible that you...

Chlorine generator says Clean Cell or Add more Salt

In my experience, as water temp drops, the ability of the SWCG sensors to accurately read salt ppm in the water decreases. My IC-40 reads (today) 2800 ppm. Actual salt content is 3400-3600 range. The unit is giving a 'Low salt" signal (orange light), but is still producing plenty of chlorine...

yellowish/orangeish goo in the wheels of my polaris cleaner

Nah...it is not greasy at all. In fact, I could get it off the wheels with hands and just wash it off with plain water. At first I thought it could be rust from the mechanism inside the cleaner, but it doesn't seem the case.

yellowish/orangeish goo in the wheels of my polaris cleaner

This weekend I took out my Polaris cleaner out of the water for a general clean up/check up. A yellowish/orangeish goo that formed in the inside of the rubber wheels caught my attention.
