Water Leak? Losing 2 inches of water daily

You're absolutely right. Never had this much water loss in 25 plus years. I hate to see the upcoming water bill. I'm sure it will be astronomical. I think we really have narrowed down to a skimmer, hopefully not both. However the repair will be painful in many ways.

Water Leak? Losing 2 inches of water daily

Thank you all for your responses. So Pool company tech came over and we blocked the Polaris wall return and lowered the water below the skimmers. Placed a piece of duct tape to mark level. NO water loss. for over a week. He came back and switched all the equipment to filter through the drain and...

Water Leak? Losing 2 inches of water daily

I started to notice that the filter was sucking air and discovered the water level was low so of course it would do that. What I didn't get was why was I losing so much water. I turned all the equipment off and ran the hose for several hours allowing the water level to rise. Started all the...

    Tell Us About Your Avatar!

My wonderful golden retriever, Clyde, was more porpoise than dog. He could not stand a moment out of the pool. As long as we were swimming he was in the water with us. He lived a short 10 years. Still miss him.

Gunite Shoot finally occurred today FEEDBACK PLS

One more thing, spring for the best plaster you can afford and really like because every time you look in the water you'll really appreciate that you went with what you liked the most. If you're going to be there a while (15 to 20 years ) the extra whatever it was will be worth it. At night...

Gunite Shoot finally occurred today FEEDBACK PLS

I only have one piece of advice. Make sure when they fill they bring the largest tankers for water or a very reliable source. On our recent re plastering they brought a small tanker and he had to go and refill three times. Even though the hose was kept on while he went to reload it left 3...

    Raypak: “Rollout SW Open”

We have had 3 Raypak gas heaters and had problems with the roll out switch from the beginning. Every time the wind blew in just the right way it would blow it out and we had to get it replaced. They installed the tall stack on it and that solved the problem. Take a look at this video on you...

New Raypak heater made in 2018, installed 4 weeks ago

Here' s how it went. I followed your suggestion and in a casual manner I told him that in the process of trying to figure out what was going on with the heater I started to read various articles and many said to look at the serial number and model. Then I told him that I checked it out and...

    Heater Plumbing suggestions

You're welcome will be glad to send more if it helps you in anyway. If you have not purchased the heater I found out that from 2019 forward they are equipped with Protek Shield. This extends the life of the heater.

New Raypak heater made in 2018, installed 4 weeks ago

This new knowledge is driving me a little crazy. I don't know if I'm being too picky and some advice from cooler heads in this forum may help a lot. We negotiated the pool renovation, replaster etc plus a new Raypak P-M336A-EN-X for our 20,000 gallon pool. Finally was given the go ahead to run...

    Heater Plumbing suggestions

We just bought a 336A Raypak. First experience is that the contractor installed a heater made in 2018, so I'm not happy cause I'm wondering if he's trying to pull something weird. However the installation requires a bypass valve. and a check valve if you have any kind of chlorinator or SWG. Im...

    Finally getting a new heater

If you haven't bought the heater yet make sure you look at the date when it was made. I beleive it's the first 4 numbers of the serial number. We just got a new Raypak and the contractor put in a heater made in Oct 2018. I feel that's pretty fishy.

New Re-Plaster...potential REPAIR on Sun Deck

We just had our pool replastered exactly 3 weeks ago. They had to bust out the gunite floor around all the returns (3) 2 lights, deep end drain and some other things. Also bond coat etc and none of the places ended looking like that. Really think about it because every single time you look at...

Coping Repair or Replacement - Cost Guesses?

Our pool has a different type of coping as you can see under the dog. The top is brick and below inside the wall tile. I’m not an expert but if my pool looked like that I’d get a few estimates and different ideas on what could be done. You might not be able to get anything done this season...

    New Pool Water Chemistry

Thank you for the clarification. Actually today was the first day I actually added liquid chlorine to bring my FC up from 2.5 to hopefully 6. I did it after dinner and after running a full water test. I’ll check the pool first thing in the morning. The whole level of chemicals is starting to be...

Design concepts for pool in Prosper, TX

I like this last design. The grown ups can sit and enjoy talking and you are all still watching the kids. It all looks really pretty. Totally regret not going with a SWG on our recent renovation. Have a Polaris cleaner, but when this dies will get a robot that gets plugged in to the outlet. Much...

I would highly recommend you visit some pools to see the finishes. Where I live there’s a pool guy who does tours of his projects on Saturday mornings.
