Intermittant shock when touching Intermatic timer or water in the pump basket

Re: Electrical shock at pump skimmer basket with Superflo VS new install I don't have an SPD. Power from the breaker goes into the Intermatic timer, then the pump. The charge can be felt on the manual on/off switch on the timer and in the pump basket water. Its intermittent, why would that be?

Intermittant shock when touching Intermatic timer or water in the pump basket

Split from Electrical shock at pump skimmer basket with Superflo VS new install Zea3 PoolEinstein, did you ever figure out what the issue was? I am having the same exact issue, similar set up without the SPD. Electrical shock intermittently when I touch the water in the pump basket unless I...

    Pool paint fading

Last October I bought a house with an in ground plaster pool. The pool was recently painted before I bought the house. As this is my first pool I did not know anything about maintaining it. So I went to the local mom and pop pool store and they gave me a bunch of tips. They told me to use...

Dolphin Nautilus Plus vs Aquabot Breeze 4wd

So I think I have narrowed it down to two robotic pool cleaners. Im ready to purchase one this week. Does anyone have either of these and can I get some pros and cons of each. Which one should I go with? I have a 19,000 gallon, inground pool with a painted surface.

    Recommend a cleaner

I've only seen the Dolphin for $600-$700. Where did you find it for $500ish. I was looking to not spend more than that.

    Recommend a cleaner

I am looking at a robot also vs the manual or creepy crawly vacuum attached to the skimmer. I would like one that plugs in and runs independent of the pool filtration system. I have a 19,000 gallon in ground pool with a painted surface. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced good one?

    Landon Skim Filter

Oh, what would you plug the other hole with when you were going to use one of the two side holes?

    Landon Skim Filter

Thanks oldpoolman, I understand now! I don't have the filter grid assembly or the vac plate but I'm guessing I don't really need it since I have a regular filter near the pool pump. It would be nice to be able to use the side vac line but I guess I can continue to use the pvc pipe I made to...

    Landon Skim Filter

The more I think about this the more questions I have. Since Oldpoolman said one of the side pipes goes to the main drain, I'm wondering if I have any suction from the main drain at all now, probably not or verry little. I wish I could see one of the old filters that use to go into the skimmer...

    Landon Skim Filter

Yes, the water gets pulled to the bottom of the skimmer then to the pump and filter. I can't reach the bottom of the skimmer so what I've been doing is using a long pvc pipe that I made and hooking the vacuum hose to it. It works but it's a pain. I'm wondering how I can utilize the connection...

    Landon Skim Filter

Kim, I'm not sure how the hole goes to the main drain. When I put my hand over it, I feel no suction. The two holes on the inside of the skimmer are directly across from each other parallel to the pool. I know one goes to a hole in the wall of the pool. I didn't know where the other one...

    Landon Skim Filter

Oldpoolman, there are two holes on the walls of the skimmer. One goes to a hole in the pool wall, I'm assuming to hook up a vacuum but I don't know how I would get suction from that hole.

Kim, here is a picture. Its difficult to get a picture inside because its dark and deep. Hopefully this will help.

    Low chlorine levels

Hi all, within a day or two of adding a gallon of liquid chlorine to my pool my reading is back at zero. Took a sample to my local pool shop and they said everything looks good except for the low chlorine level. They said a gallon a week should be sufficient for my in-ground 19,000 gallon...

    Landon Skim Filter

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum as I just bought my first house with a pool. Im learning slowly about care and maintenance, so far so good. I have an older pool (probably built in the 50s), in-ground about 19,000 gallons. My skimmer is probably original and from best I can tell it is a...
