    chlorine evaporates

Yesterday I added 10 ppm, just a few minutes ago I added another 15ppm. Not sure why all 10 ppm of cal hypo evaporated. Could it be a bad batch of chlorine?

    Why is TA rising?

CYA 30 -35, very subjective CH - 310 FC - 6 CC - 0 TA 7 goes to 8 in one week after adding fill water in the summer PH - 7.5 - 7.8, once rises above 7.8, I lower to 7.4, about once a week - - - Updated - - - When I add acid to lower PH, TA also gets lowered to 7

    Why is TA rising?

I believe you are saying my TA should stay constant, if one is not adding chemicals. I have to lower PH now as my fill water adds to my existing range of 7.5 to 7.8 Lower PH by acid.

    Fill Water loaded with PH

I'm guessing at a PH of 14. It could be 10. I'm looking at the results after 5 drops and it is very pink / red. The PH is very high/. I'm just trying to determine what is causing the TA to climb. In the past 4 weeks, I'd say every week it goes from 7 to 8. The only thing I'm doing...

    Fill Water loaded with PH

in response to your question TA ~ 7.2. TA from the pool is approximately 7.2. I realize that we multiply by 10 and we should obtain a even number.

    Fill Water loaded with PH

TA is 30 from the fill water. Approximately 14 ph or so from the fill water. I attached a picture of the PH reading of the fill water. I put water from the source (house) into a 3 gallon bucket. I understand why my PH is going up, water I add to pool is very high in PH. Is this what is also...

    Fill Water loaded with PH

All the tests are good PH 7.5 CYA 30 CH 310 TA ~ 7.2 FC 8 CC 0 PH and TA keep rising Maybe the issue for testing the fill water is that I'm using a small amount of water to test. 3 gallon bucket. I should purchase a 5 gallon bucket or larger? Thanks - - - Updated - - - I'm using 25 ml...

    Fill Water loaded with PH

I'm definitely not a chemist. It seems strange to you guys that the fill water can have a PH of ~ 15 along with a TA of 30. I've tested PH twice and TA three times

    Fill Water loaded with PH

I tested TA 3 times from the fill water, all 3 tests came up with 30. 3 drops of r-0009 and turns red. first two of r-0007, then five of r-0008.

    Fill Water loaded with PH

It's warmer now and I'm having to replace water that is evaporating. My PH is uncontrollable along with TA. I tested my fill water twice in the last two days and I'm sure this is the problem. See attached pic. I can understand why the PH in the pool would be going up, but not sure why TA...

    concentrated Clorox bleach

Texas Splash - I'm guessing you are using ~ 1 gallon per day. 365 x $2.95 = $1,076 I have been using cal hypo, but I am changing so my calcium doesn't get high. Of course then I have to drain and re-fill with tap water. Do you think you are spending that many $$ to chlorinate your pool...

    concentrated Clorox bleach

If poolmath says to add 121 oz of 8.25% strength, to increase FC by 2.7 and our pool consumes 2.7 FC each day, I must add this amount daily to keep FC the same. Seems fairly expensive @ 4.00 per bottle at home depot. I actually calculate our pool consumes less than 2 FC daily. I was just...

    concentrated Clorox bleach

I am using the PoolMath calculator and am not sure of the exact amount of Clorox concentrated bleach to add. Example: when using the calculator it says to add 121 oz of 8.25% strength. My question is should I add 121 oz of concentrated? Is the concentrated the equivalent of 182 oz? or some...

    CH sample tube level?

I have a TF-100 test kit and the instructions says to fill clear plastic cylinder to 10 ml mark. I previously printed out a pdf file forum and says to fill to 25 ml mark (10 ml) The open and close paren use for very high CH. My CH is ~ 280. Should I fill to 10 or 25 ml mark? I must be...

    Rising PH

I have been testing my PH twice a day, always reads the same ~ 6.9 to 7.0 I always drop 5 of the PH regents. TA is always ~90 PH just doesn't want to go higher for some reason. Can't figure out... I made my aerator and inserted into my return, where the air is pushed out into the pool. Is...

    Rising PH

PH ? My PH keeps rising because my TA is ~ 100. I installed my home made aerator yesterday. Should raise my PH without raising TA:) Lowered PH to 7.0 So far my PH has not moved higher from 7.0 I wait for PH to rise to 7.5 then lower again until my TA is ~ 70. My question is when I stop...
