pool consuming bleach - water clear

yes, I agree, thanks. I double checked just now using a 10 ml sample (0.5 ppm resolution) - got what I expected given I added 5 an hour ago - it held at that value for an hour. And, the CC was 0.5 CC or less. Barely any pink when I added the indicator. So, my CC numbers in the table above are...

pool consuming bleach - water clear

I opened the skimmers after the pool co. left because I had to get the water level up. They pumped antifreeze out of those, but I did notice a brief flash of pink when I opened those skimmers. That was three weeks ago, think that was enough? Another thought is that my lawn service might have let...

pool closed for winter - spa stays open - recommended ranges

Quick question: my in-ground pool (plaster) is closed for the winter, and the spa stays open. During the season, they share water via a spillover. For the winter with spa only, I am wondering whether I should shift to suggested ranges for spas in the pool calculator, or stay with the...

    pH going up

Thanks for the reply, Texas. So, new plaster is not the cause this time, but that is good to know. The spillover is my likely source. It is one foot wide and the water falls about 2 feet from the spa into the pool. The elevated TA is really what motivated my post. Yes, I did read and use the...

    pH going up

Hey TFPC community, Thanks for the great site and helpful info! I moved into a house with an in-ground pool/spa with spillover a while back. Because of this site, I transitioned the pool this summer to manual dosing of 10% liquid chlorine. After years of trichlor tabs for this pool, the CYA had...
