UPDATE: I ended up going with a combination of Vitamin C and Muriatic acid - though not at the same time.

I do not have any vitamin C (without going to buy it). I do have Muriatic acid. Would you recommend me using that? I use it for pH control in the pool which does not have stain issues.

I'll get some and give it a try. How soon will I notice a difference? Seconds, minutes, hours, days? If that doesn't work, do you have another recommendation?

I just took the cover off my hot tub and noticed staining as seen below on one half of my hot tub. What caused it? How can I remove it? I've tried bleach and Mean Green but that did very little. Thanks! Steve

I had virtually no dropoff overnight but did not keep it at 16 the entire time as CYA is 35. Rounding up to 40/16ppm would have been ideal. If I did not have dropoff, should I be ok to allow it to go back to normal levels?

I've maintained a minimum of 12FC for several days. WHen I brush the the bottom, I see just a tiny bit of algea in the finishing stroke of the brush. Does dead algea float or sink? Is dead algea still the same color or does it change? I'll do an overnight test tonight.
