Opening went great - good for several days and overnight water suddenly dropped

Recirculate is ok! Someone is coming to bring me a gasket and ball valve to use as a backup. You rule Cowboy Casey!

Opening went great - good for several days and overnight water suddenly dropped

You're right! It's POURING out the end of the backwash hose faster than I can fill the pool with the garden hose (and I have a lot of pressure here).

Thanks - not out of the end of the hose, just there (but I'll check again). Backwash line leaking, yeah. Luckily I didn't know, but I do always spin the valve only clockwise from filter to backwash (or waste but that's rare), rinse, and filter. :)

Yes! Think I found it. I couldn't see it at 4 a.m. when I discovered this but can see it now that it's lighter. I'll see if I can log in from my phone and upload the short video.

Opening went great - good for several days and overnight water suddenly dropped

Filter pressure is perfect, running perfectly and was at good same level last night and I got up this morning and the water level was at the bottom of the skimmer line and skimmers were empty as water was pouring into them from the bottom of the skimmer line. Help!

Help disabled and having to open late June

My pool is covered with mesh cover and pool company cannot open until June 18th in Virginia. A month later than usual but I HAVE to go with this date. Not debatable. What should I do in the meantime so it's not a nightmare at opening (or what should a pool company do if I can't). I am DISABLED...

What water temp is best for adding salt?

The FC was 2 doing the Overnight test with everything off this morning. With pump running FC is 4. I have decided that I cannot do anything this year to fix the 120 code or replace the system (see problem above 3 posts). If I want a new system next year it will be $1800 with labor for a 3 year...

What water temp is best for adding salt?

FC was 2 this morning. Can I keep this balanced without replacing/fixing the cell? It is producing "some" chlorine.

What water temp is best for adding salt?

Finally 4 weeks after opening I got to add the salt when the temp was 70. Soon after I began getting a 120 error code - low current forward to cell. I ended up having to call the pool people. The pool company came out and said it was possibly the transformer and if not that then I need an entire...

I should add that I have been putting in Liquid Chlorine (Pool Essentials from Walmart Chlorinating Liquid) but after 2 days there is no residual chlorine.

    AquaPure 1400 service codes 120 121

I know it is now 2016 but I have the same problem. Admins can point me to a newer thread if you can find one. The pool company came out and said it was possibly the transformer and if not that then I need an entire new system. Transfer and labor is near $500 and New system is $1500 plus labor...

    2016 Muriatic Acid Prices

My local pool company sells muriatic acid for $6.50 per gallon that is 31% HCl. You can buy at that price by the gallon or in boxes of 4 - one gallon jugs. Much cheaper than Home Depot's 10%. Virginia (state).

What water temp is best for adding salt?

Ok, thanks! I've never opened this early when it's 48 degrees at night and the water is under 60 degrees. Thanks again!

What water temp is best for adding salt?

I guess I should also hold off on the Muriatic acid until before adding salt as well (to lower ph).

What water temp is best for adding salt?

I just opened my pool for the season. The water temp fluctuates between 55 and 57 (the SWG doesn't work until temp is at least 65 degrees). Should I wait until the temp goes up to add salt or will the salt dissolve just as easily in cooler temps? TIA!

What Salt Test Strips for pool opening do you recommend?

I just knew after I ordered the strips someone was going to say the Taylor drops were better, LOL. I think adding the salt slowly is a good idea. The pool store did the water test last year and I was using Mineral Springs so I bought 8 bags of Beginnings $$$ and they said to put all at once in...

What Salt Test Strips for pool opening do you recommend?

When they open the pool they (pool company) will shock and vacuum (as well as hook stuff up). What salt test strips do you recommend to test for how much salt is needed? In case my sig doesn't show it is: aarsic 30k gallon in-ground plaster pool, Pentair Whisper-Flo 2.0hp, Jandy AquaPure PLC...
