It is more a function of flow through the heat exchanger than BUTs. Are you using one pump for the spa and pool? Or is there separate pump for the spa?

Most spa ozonators produce 50mg/hr and are interchangeable. Before you replace it, check to make sure it is not working. Most people mistake the ozonator not working when all that is needed is for the injector to be cleaned. With that, delozone makes one of the best units.

What model do you have? If it is able to run on 110v and wired that way, the heater will not operate with the jet pump running. The amp load is simply too much. If it is wired for 220v, typically the heater and pump can run simultaneously.
