    Dirt clouding up pool

So our neighbors had a crummy tree crew cut down some trees this week and in their clean up using leaf blows they sent a cloud of dirt our way and now our pool the worse it’s been in 6 years since building. I’ve got the pump running on high and have been vaccing the bottom and already cleaned...

    Nicheless light replacement

When we built the pool in 2014 we installed 3 Jandy Pro Nicheless LED lights and all was good until late summer 2016 when the first one stopped working on the blue LED which cause most of the colors to look a little odd. We usually kept the lights on dark blue as it looked so nice at night. A...

    Hot tub suggestions

We are thinking about getting a standalone hot tub for this fall and winter to have off to the side of our pool deck. Not looking for anything crazy, just a warm spot when the pool is cold. Any recommendations of what to look for or to stay away from? Are 110v models sufficient? Sent from my...

How to reduce noise from deck jets?

We have 2 deck jets individually plumbed, when they are on it seems too loud so I have been trying to find a water to lower this without losing the distance of the arch. I contacted Jandy but they don't have other nozzle options. I found I could insert a piece of rubber tubing with a smaller...

Power outage in Winter backup question

This is our first winter with a pool and we are keeping open all winter. As the temps got down to single digits last night we had a nice layer of ice form on top except for near the returns and skimmers so far so good. My thoughts then turn to what happens and how long of a power outage would...

Winterize deck jets but leave pool open?

As the title states we plan to leave the pool open as it is a huge focal point in our yard but should we blow the the deck jet lines and shut over the flow to these for the winter or just keep them open with water flowing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hayward 2 speed Tristar pump and AquaPlus controller

I thought I would post the wiring info provided from Hayward as apparently it is slightly different than in the past and this threw my electrician for a loop. We ended up running on low speed for a while until I sat down to figure it out. Hopefully the images come out alright

    Cartridge filter observations

I opened our cartridge filter for the first time since the install and start up 3 months ago. Does the one on the left look normal, too dirty or could I have gone longer. I run the aquabot cleaner once to twice a week depending on weather and pool use. But I am happy to say we have had a nice...

    No pressure on gauge

We recently completed our DIY install with some PB help and when the pump is on the gauge on the cartridge filter barely moves, if I shut off some of the returns I can cause the needle to go up higher. There seems to be good pressure at the returns and I can force the deck jets to shoot over the...

    Pump runtime, where to start?

The pool is up and running and want to transition from bleach that was used before the pump was wired to the SWG, any input on what % and how long I should run the pump to keep the chlorine level correct?

    Leak on return fitting

I am ready to backfill around the pool but have a small drip that appears to be coming from around the threads on the large but that holds the return to the metal wall. Any ideas as I'm not sure how water is getting to that point? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Adding water for the first time.

Hopefully the liner will be installed this weekend and we can start adding water. We are filling off the house/ city water so it shouldn't have any crazy issues. I did a simple test on the tap water to see where it was at and how to use the TF-100 kit. What should I be looking for to get...

    Design software for DIYers

After spending some time scratching my different ideas on paper I decided it was time to make them look more professional for HOA and county approval. After searching around Realtime Landscape Pro had good reviews so I spent the $100 which if it did all it claims is a fantastic price. I have to...

    Planning stage for new pool

We are in the planning stage for a new vinyl IGP to start late winter/early spring next year. We will likely be adding a small 1/2 bath as part of the project and trying to decide where to place the pump and equipment. We will likely keep the pool open year round so not sure if that would play a...
